WHAT IS IT?
The Federalist Papers are 85 essays that detailed
the new government, how it will operate, and why it
is superior to the old government. (articles of
confederation)
It was written by three authors, and every entry
was signed under the pseudonym PUBLIUS
WHY WAS IT MADE?
The Federalist Papers were published in NY
newspapers to help convince voters to vote for the
Constitution
The Papers explain and ratify (approve or to agree
with) the many ideas of the Constitution and the new
government to voters who may not understand the
new government and why it is a good choice.
THE AUTHORS
Alexander Hamilton wrote 52 essays, James
Madison wrote 28, and John Jay wrote 5 essays.
PROS
Explains to voters and concerned Americans the
new direction the country is going in
People nowadays can read it if they need
explanation for what the Constitution is all about.
CONS
Every essay is signed with a pseudonym, so we
cannot know who wrote each specific essay

Most likely convinced some people to vote for the
Constitution because they were previously unaware
of what it is
