I have read your l e t t e r to Mr. Paul Rose M .P.(Blackley Ward) about щу claim fo r com pensation.
I was deported from Je rse y , Channel Is la n d s to ILAG- V l l l , E astern Cermany(Kreuzburg) along w ith approx.20 o th e rs . There were a l o t more deported a t th e tim e, b u t they were deported to A u s tr ia , to a B r i t i s h In term en t Camp.
Looking back now, I most c e r ta in ly don* t f e e l I was in a B r i t is h In ternm ent Camp as our only means o f re c re a tio n was spent w ith ing 120 sq .y d s . o f ground, overlooked a t a l l tim es by th re e machine guns. Our food c o n s is te d o f one b lack co ffee each morning, one lo a f betw een tw elve men, ç bowl o f sweded fo r f iv e days o f th e week and p o ta to e s on th e o th e r two, which we nicknamed b i rd s e e d * . I f i t hadn*t been fo r the red cro ss p a rc e ls we would most c e r ta in ly have s ta rv e d to death . T
The m ental s u ffe r in g I went th rough th en and s in ce , was nothihg compared w ith th e s u f fe r in g I l e f t behind. Both my p a ren ts were dead so I was th e b readw inner, fo r th ree young b ro th e rs and a s i s t e r . A f te r I was d ep o rted my s i s t e r t r i e d to com itt s u ic id e , and was ad m itted to a mental home. Through t h i s щу th re e young b ro th e r s were l e f t on t h e i r own so they had to be p u t i n an o rphanage. I f you wish to know more about t h i s and to know I am speaking th e t r u th you cou ld c o n tac t th e J u r a t Le B o u t i l l i e r i n th e S ta te s o f Je rse y .

From Paul Rose, M . P.

"— B7th. January,1966.Dear Sir J W P
I am writing on behalf of Mr. Alfred George Hacquoil, who i
Sppit-el in Austria. He was liberated in May the 57th. Czech tank division.
i understand that Mr. Airey Heave wrote to you about this matter in May, 1964.
I understand also that during Mr. Hacquoilfs internment he suffered from some dangerous injections at the hands of the Nazis, and this may well be relevant to his claim for compensation. Medical evidence may be obtained from Doctor Hurst, Charlestown Road, Blackley, Manchester 9.
I would be most grateful if^you^could consider Mr. Hacquoil*s claim for compensation in the ligh oi his story.
Yours sincerely.
Paul B. Hose.
