FROM THE GOVERNOR
Howdy everybody! Many thanks to all who
attended and helped with our birthday party last
month. It was a great success and a lot of fun. Sean
and his crew did an outstanding job preparing the
dinner. Linda and Maggie from Mason Valley
donated two delicious side dishes and we thank
them for that. During the celebration Dave and
Norman received their blue coats and Rick Loving
received his Moose of the Year award.
Congratulations to the three of them.
This month promises even more good times with a whole slew of meals and fun
activities for all of our members to enjoy. We have cribbage, Wii bowling, karaoke,
Veteran’s Day brunch, and Thanksgiving dinner just to name a few. More
information can be found on our activities page.
Membership Retention week will be the first week of this month and we have some
special plans for our members. One way we will show our appreciation to you is by
having a special drawing to have your dues paid next year. From Saturday the 2nd to
Saturday the 9th for every cash purchase you make for an alcoholic beverage you will
receive a ticket for a drawing to be held on Saturday the 9th at 7:00 p.m. The drawing
is open to all active L.O.O.M. members of our lodge. Come on down and enjoy your
favorite beverage and you just may be the lucky winner.
We also encourage you to help us with membership retention by letting us know how
we can improve your lodge experience. The house committee and staff are working
very hard for you, but we still need to know your thoughts, ideas, and concerns. It’s
very important to us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
I would like to personally invite each of you to come meet our new NV/CA Moose
Association President Bob Mackay and his wife Alice on Saturday the 2nd. Bob and
Alice will be preparing a great meal of pork loin with all the trimmings and dessert.
Bob is a Pilgrim and a long time member of our lodge, and he and Alice are great
people to visit with.
During this Thanksgiving season let’s all be thankful for everything we have and for
having a lodge where we can all gather with friends for good times. Happy
Thanksgiving to all of you and a special thank you to our Veterans who have served
and protected our country.
To honor our Veterans we will be having brunch on Sunday the 10th. The lodge will
provide the main courses and we ask that you bring a brunch type side dish. As
always, Veterans will eat free as our way of thanking you for your service to our
Country. Please come down and show your appreciation for those who have
served.
Many more good things will come, but for now…That’s all, folks! Woody

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR: (MAC MCCLURG)
Birthdays come and Birthdays goes and
so went our 17th one on the 12th of last
month. We had a great turnout Saturday
evening and the Karaoke went exceeding
well.
On page 10 you will see pictures taken that evening as our
new Fellows received their blazers. We congratulate Norm
and Dave on attaining this degree. Also pictured is Rick
Loving who was named Fernley’s Moose of the Year. Our
congratulations to all three.
On the second of this month we have a meeting of the Fellow-
ship Nominating committee at 2:00 P. M. This committee
chooses a new member to be our next new Fellow. The Blue
& Gold Club meeting will follow and they will be electing
officers for next year.
Also on the second our Association President, Bob Mackay,
will be putting on his apron and providing us with a nice

The barrels for food and clothing are
in the lodge social quarters and deco-
rated (thanks to LeAnn), and already the
clothing barrel is full. I thank all those who
donated.
Remember all the food and clothing that you donate stays here in Fernley. The
temperature has definitely turned colder on us and winter is approaching. The
people of Fernley who do not have as much as you, need your help. Any can goods
or dry goods will help them, and all clothing, especially winter coats.
So far we have had a great tradition going and I would like to keep it going. We
get plenty of thanks from the food bank for the efforts we put in. It is always nice
to hear the words. Thanks for your donations!
Joe Rigazio, Community Service Chairman
For those of you who do not know, the Deputy Supreme Governor is a
Good Will Ambassador for the Loyal order of Moose representing the
Supreme Governor. His job is a one year appointment, the same and the
DSG. Their job is visiting moose lodges around the country and the Su-
preme Governor can’t be everywhere, so they ask the DSG to help.
Fernley Moose Lodge has been very fortunate to have brother Mac as last
year’s DSG and I am very proud to be this year’s DSG.
For September and October, my wife (Bobbi) and I were at the Ca/Nv
convention, then at our own lodge for Mac’s Gold coat presentation, then
Grass Valley lodge, Vacaville lodge, Red Rock and Las Vegas lodge in Las
Vegas, Vallejo lodge, South Lake Tahoe lodge, Sonora lodge and Ander-
son Lodge.
We are wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving. See you next month.
Joe Rigazio, Deputy Supreme Governor for CA/NV
So far the Moose Legion is having a great year. We are cooking two meals
a month, but more importantly we are volunteering for fixing the lodge to
cooking, cleaning and bartending. Thanks to all the Moose Legionnaires
for all they do to help keep this lodge running.
For November the Moose Legion will be doing a Spaghetti dinner on Fri-
day the 8th by Larry and traditional breakfast on the 3rd by John. Hope
we can see you there.
