FERTILIZATION•It happens when a sperm meets with an
ovule.•It happens in the fallopian tubes•Then, the embryo implants in the uterus
PREGNANCY•The pregnancy lasts 9 months = 40 weeks
•During these 9 months the body of the mother changes a lot and also the embryo.
•The embryo eats and breath by the umbilical cord that is connected with the mother.
•It is in the interior of the amniotic sac
PREGNANCY• There are 3 stages in the pregnancy
▫In the first term (0-3 months): the brain and the principal organs of the body are developed. At the end of this term it is called foetus
▫In the second term (3-6 months): the foetus can listen and it moves
▫In the third term (6-9 months): it grows and gets fatter to be prepared to the moment of birth
• The babies that are born before the 37th week are called prematures.
PREGNANCY
BIRTH• It is the moment in which the baby is born.
• First, the amniotic sac is broken and all the liquid that is inside goes out.
• Then, the cervix starts to dilate
• After that, some contractions help the mother to deliver the baby
• Finally, the placenta is expelled
BIRTH There are 3 stages
