The Fibex GRP modular handrail system is a cost
effective alternative to conventional metal or timber
handrails.
The handrail system consists of a 50x40mm GRP
pultruded tube (5mm wall) in 5m lengths and a range
of moulded fittings. The extensive range of handrail
components can be configured for a wide variety of
applications and uses. Fibex can design a handrail
system to suit your specific requirements and also offer
and installation service if required.
The handrail range has been tested by Lancaster
University and is certified to meet the requirements of
BS4592:0 2006+A1 2012 Industrial flooring, stairs and
handrails for the general duty (0.36kN/m).

Fibex heavy duty GRP structural handrail system offers
incredible durability and is easy to fabricate and install.
Robust and sturdy, our standard handrails outperform
metallic and timber alternatives due to GRP’s high
strength-to-weight ratio and low installation and
maintenance costs.
The handrail system meets all the requirements of
BS4592:0 Industrial Flooring, Stairs and Handrails for
Heavy Duty (0.74kN/m).
The system is installed with 1.1m high posts at 1.25m
centres. The posts can be bolted to a sidewall or
to a surface with feet. This configuration has been
independently tested at Lancaster University and has
passed 074kN/m load test.

Our standard handrail system consists of four
pultruded profiles (box section, round tube, handrail
profile and kick plate) which are available in 6 metre
lengths. The handrail is easy to make by drilling a
38mm hole into the box sections for the tube to be
inserted for the knee rail. The handrail profile sits on
top and the toe rail at the base. The handrail system
meets all the requirements of BS4592:0 Industrial
Flooring, Stairs and Handrails for Heavy Duty
application (0.74kN/m).
