Due to their minimal diameter, glass fibres are higly flexible, permittingthem to be laid and bent in practically any required arrangement. However,glass fibres can tend to break when subjected to strong impacts or jerkymovements (marked positive or negative acceleration). For fibre-opticcables exposed to this type of strain, we offer specially enhanced vibrationprotection for the cables of our glass fibre-optic range. The fibres aresubjected to a special treatment which minimizes friction and helps todeflect impacts, (suffix “VS”)
When ordering a fibre-optic cable with enhanced vibration resistance,please add the suffix “VS” to the fibre-optic cable code.
The glass fibres can be bonded for high-temperature ranges.Standard bond is suitable for temperatures up to 80 °C.Using special glues, it is possible to achieve temperatures up to 250 °Cand up to 400 °C.For this higher temperature ranges, the stainless steeltype “E” sheath must be used (see page 4).When ordering a fibre -optic cable for high temperature requirements,please add the suffix T250 or T400 to the fibre-optic cable code.
