Fifth Sunday of Lent March 28 & 29, 2020
Below is a thank-you note for our
Prayer Shawl Ministry Group
and for our prayers.
Parishioner Joyce gave a prayer shawl to her niece,
Haley, who is battling cancer. Haley was diagnosed
with heart cancer just before Christmas and had
major surgery to remove as much tissue as possi-
ble. She is still undergoing treatment and the prog-
nosis is not good; life expectancy is around 5 years.
She’s married and they have a 1 and 1/2 half year
old. They are keeping their faith alive for a miracle.
SUMMARY OF THIS SUNDAY’S READINGS
First Reading — Thus says the Lord GOD: I will open your graves, have you rise from them, and settle you on your land. Then you shall know I am the LORD, O my people! (Ezekiel 37:12-14).
Psalm — With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption (Psalm 130).
Second Reading — If Christ is in you, the spirit is alive even if the body is dead because of sin (Romans 8:8-11).
Gospel — Lazarus, dead for four days, came out of his tomb when Jesus called his name (John 11:1-45).

Mass Options
There are many options to watch Mass on
television, online, or listen to it on Relevant
Radio 1050AM. See inside for a list of some of
these options. Remember to make a Spiritual Communion. That prayer is inside too.
▪ Thank-You Letters
▪ Next Fish Dinner Update
▪ What is happening with Mass intentions?
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our
fundraisers, weekly donations, and a fish dinner
resulting in thousands of dollars that we can no
longer anticipate in our budget. Our fiscal year ends
June 30th, so there is still a chance for a summer
fundraiser, but it is not guaranteed. We ask that you
keep our parish family in your prayers, and we
thank you for your continued support through these
challenging times. (continued on page 6 inside)

Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at
this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
Because of the pandemic and related
restrictions, we’ve been unable to
celebrate Mass with your Mass intentions.
Once business as usual resumes, Kathy in
the parish office will be contacting you to
reschedule your Mass intentions. Thank
you for your patience and consideration.
Dear Fellow Pilgrims,
I want to write
of hope and
sunrises while
I’m sitting here
in this Lenten
desert called quarantine. I want to look
to the promise of Easter, of
Resurrection and new life. That’s where
our faith invites us to find refuge. I’m
grateful for that. Without a spiritual
center, I think life would be fraught
with endless anxiety. At least it would be
for me.
For rock-solid footing in these earth-
quivering times, I invite you to wrap
yourself in a quilt of wisdom called the
Benedictine Values. St. Benedict wrote
these rules to live by over 1500 years
ago. They have survived the rise and fall
of entire nations, the collapse of
economies, and a number of devastating
plagues and pandemics. How many
times over the past fifteen centuries
have people thought the world was
ending, and yet these eleven simple
values remain as strong and poignant as
ever.
Journey well and pray always.
Peace, Deacon Steve Meyer
Awareness of God
To look for God not in the abstract but in the ordinary events of
every day.
Community
To become who we are by our relationships with others.
Dignity of Work
To appreciate the dignity of work in God’s creation.

our immediate environment and
in the larger society.

To be content with living
simply and finding balance in
work, prayer, and leisure.
Peace
To strive for peace on all levels: with self, others, and God.
Respect for Persons
To respect each person regardless of class, background, or
professional skill.
Stability
To cultivate rootedness and a shared sense of mission.
Stewardship
To appreciate and to care lovingly for all the goods of this place.
A well-spent life is the only passport to heaven.

During this unprecedented time, we want to once again stress the importance of Faith Direct, a secure, online, automatic
giving option. Because a significant percentage of parishioners utilize Faith Direct, we continue to receive a consistent in-
come even with our doors being closed. This allows the parish to weather the storm for a while, but only to a certain extent.
Another large portion of our revenue comes through those parishioners who utilize envelopes. Unfortunately, due to the
disruption of our weekend mass schedule, parishioners are unable to put their envelopes in the offertory collection baskets.
We are very thankful to those parishioners who mail their envelopes to the parish. We encourage envelope givers to
continue mailing
your donations in
if you are able. If
you’ve been
thinking about
making the
transition to
Faith Direct, now
is a perfect time
to do so. If Faith
Direct isn’t for
you, please
remember that
our parish family
values all of your
gifts, in all of
their forms. If
you have any
questions, please
contact Jeremy
Borchardt, our
business manager
at jborchardt@
seasgb.org. or
920.499.1546 ext.
112. Until stay-at-
home restrictions
are lifted, staff
will be working
from home.
Therefore, please
allow additional
time for
responses to
questions.
Thank you!
Can we pray for you? Contact Kathy Vandersteen at kvandersteen@ seasgb.org or 920.499.1546 if you or someone you know would like prayers. The members of our Pray-er Chain will pray for your sincere intentions. Also contact Kathy for any updates to the Prayer Chain. (additions, deletions, or email address updates)
Become A Member or Questions We welcome and register new members the second weekend of every month. You may also contact the parish office via email at [email protected] or call 920.499.1546.

Fish Dinner Canceled
We do not have a list of those who
purchased tickets for the April 3 dinner.
If you or anyone you know purchased a ticket for the dinner
and want a refund, please email your scanned ticket(s) to [email protected] or mail your ticket(s) to the parish office to
the attention of Jeremy Borchardt, 2771 Oakwood Dr., Green
Bay, WI 54304. Include your name, address, phone number,
and email address. We want your email address in order to
send you a confirmation that we received your returned tickets.
Until stay-at-home restrictions are lifted, staff are working from home as best as possible, but it's not the same as being in
the office and having easy access to files, programs, and equip-
ment. Check printing is a process and multiple signatures are
required to validate each check. Because of this and possible
mail delays, please allow 6-8 weeks to receive your refund. We appreciate your patience.
