There are those times when you know that you've experi-enced something great, something spectacular and somethingthat was touched by the hand of God Almighty. Thosemoments that make history, and will be remembered for alifetime.

This is what I experienced the night of the first city com-missioners’ meeting at the Kissimmee City Hall. As the world-renowned Mayo Cliniccelebrates its 150th anniversary, we havediscovered the identities of eight abor-tionists and the high-priced abortionsdone at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Roches-ter, Minn.

Both of these discoveries are trulyremarkable. Learning the identity of anabortionist in Minnesota tends to be verydifficult. Minnesota’s abortion reportinglaw, the most thorough and detailed inthe nation, shields the identities of abor-tionists from the public. All eight ofthese abortionists were previously un-known to us. (See the “Pray for” columnon page 6 for more information on these

Mayo Clinic abortionists.) Five are con-firmed to perform “elective” first-trimester abortions at Mayo ClinicHospital, Methodist Campus. The otherthree are perinatologists who also work atFranciscan Healthcare in La Crosse,Wis., a part of the Mayo Clinic HealthSystem, and were confirmed to be abor-tionists because of their work in LaCrosse. Abortions are not committed atFranciscan Healthcare in La Crosse. (Seewww.exposemayo.com for ongoing ef-forts to remove the abortionists from thestaff of this Catholic hospital.)

Secret, private “elective” abortions areavailable at Mayo in Rochester and are

From the Executive Director, Brian Gibson . . .

available for women from all over theworld. If paid by cash, a deposit of$9,000 – $10,000 is required with theactual cost being perhaps higher. Andsince the Mayo Clinic is not listed on theannual Minnesota abortion report, we donot know how many abortions are beingcommitted within the Mayo ClinicHealth System.

More information, including a plan ofaction to call Mayo Clinic back to trulybeing the world-class healthcare providerit is known for, will be forthcoming infuture newsletters and communicationsfrom Pro-Life Action Ministries.

ing, lasting effects and how they do notwant young women in their communityto experience what they have experi-enced.

Dr. John Littell, an incredible pro-lifephysician, who is helping to lead the wayin this battle, gave an absolutely passion-ate speech, generating a long and power-ful round of applause that went on andon. A mother came forward with her sonwho has Down syndrome, sharing howshe was encouraged strongly to abort herchild, but she refused. She made thepoint that what we need in this countryare more people like her loving son, notfewer! It was so powerful and so beauti-ful!

Since then, a group of 70 physicianshas taken out a full-page ad (May 3) inthe Osceola News Gazette expressingtheir outrage over the proposed mega-PP,and encouraging those in Kissimmee andsurrounding areas to join them in thisbattle to try to keep this mega place ofdeath from opening! Many of the physi-

cians, who are pro-life, also expressedconcern over the impact this abortioncenter will have on the healing communi-ty. From the physicians in the ad:

“The REALITY is that the ONLY SER-VICE to be provided to the citizens ofOsceola by this center that is not alreadyreadily available is ABORTION. Thepresence of this abortion facility in the

midst of the otherwise healing environ-ment of Oak Commons will have aninevitable, immediate and long-lastingeconomic impact upon our entire commu-nity, and will affect our ability as physi-cians to continue to provide optimal careto our patients.”

Our Lenten “40 Days for Life” outside Whole Woman’s abortion center in Minne-apolis ended with a "Biblical Jericho March" (see Joshua, chapter 6) in which par-ticipants solemnly and prayerfully marched around the entire block once each dayfor six days and then seven times on the seventh day (April 13). At the conclusionof the seven-day march, two members of Seed of Abraham congregation (see inset)sounded the shofar (ram’s horn) and Brian Gibson led the participants in shoutingseven praises to God, seven times each. Sam Crabtree, a pastor at BethlehemBaptist Church, also spoke and helped lead the group in prayer.

St. PaulA large crowd outside the mega-PlannedParenthood (building to the left) listens toand prays with Rev. Roger Barcus, pastorof St. Paul Apostolic Tabernacle. About2700 attended Pro-Life Action Ministries'32nd annual Good Friday Prayer Vigil.Fifteen area pastors of various denomina-tions led the reading of Scriptures andprayers, one each half hour, throughoutthe day. Following the passion and deathof Jesus Christ and remembering the 4000babies killed each year at this abortionchamber, attendees kept a solemn presencefor seven and a half hours. Adding to theatmosphere were Planned Parenthood (PP)supporters whose mocking, carnival-likeevent coincided with the solemn vigil near-by. Representatives of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Rights attempted to lead the PP supporters in "prayer." Thoseattending the Good Friday Prayer Vigil were able to further identify with the passion of Christ because of their presence. Asfar as we know, this was the third largest pro-life vigil ever held outside an abortion facility anywhere in the country, the largesttwo being previous Good Friday Vigils sponsored by Pro-Life Action Ministries.

Good Friday Prayer Vigils

Kit Larson, Smokey Photo

OrlandoOur Good Friday Hour of Prayer & Praise outside AllWomen’s Health Center was wonderful this year withmany new faces and a bigger crowd! Pastor CurtisHeffelfinger of Orlando Grace Church led us in a shortmessage, a young lady named Liza led us in beautifulworship, we had reading of the scriptures and we prayed! We started off in front of the waiting room window andthen later moved up front, while worshipers remainedsinging in front of the window. It was a very, very busyday, and although we did not see any babies saved, we didsee the Lord high and lifted up even in the midst of suchevil. It was an incredible day!

— Michele Herzog, Central Florida Branch Manager

DuluthIt was an answer to prayer to see all who came to theGood Friday Prayer Vigil at the Building forWomen on April 18. It blessed my heart to see somany willing to make a stand. The weather this yearhas been a struggle but on Good Friday it was sunnyand reasonably warm. God was merciful to us thisyear, considering the recent pattern of cold andsnow that seemed to never end. We just have tobelieve that our prayers will make a difference in thebrutal battle that is being waged against God andhis children in these hedonistic times.

Babies Savedlooked at the ultrasound (as we urge themto do if they seem determined to go in)and decided they couldn’t hurt their baby. They were so excited and showed thesidewalk counselor the ultrasound photo. They took the literature and a fetal modeland the sidewalk counselor told themGod will bless them. The sidewalk coun-selor himself was very blessed! “Myheart is still pounding with happiness, and Thank God for the opportunity tohelp them,” he wrote in his report.

By the grace of God, we have docu-mented 36 babies saved so far thisyear! Here is one recent story:

* One Saturday early in May, the side-walk counselor was stationed at the dri-veway of Planned Parenthood in St. Paul. There was a lot of activity, he reported. He stopped a car that was leaving and thedriver (the baby’s father) opened his win-dow and said, “We changed our mindsbecause we heard you call out to us whenwe were in the parking lot.” He said they

procedures among other violations. TheTexas Commission on EnvironmentalQuality fined two of its facilities for ille-gal dumping of hazardous waste alongwith patient records! What is most fright-ening is that there are no requirements inthe state of Minnesota that abortion facil-ities be inspected, so what can we expectof their day-to-day practices here in theTwin Cities?

Of equal concern is that Amy Hag-strom Miller, CEO of Whole Woman's, isan advocate of "de-stigmatizing" abor-tion. She is part of a relatively new move-ment to put a benign face on abortion, deceiving women into thinking that abor-tion will not have physical, emotional orspiritual consequences. An abortionappointment will be reduced to having nomore moral consequence than anappointment to have one’s hair or nailsdone. Furthermore, at a recent panel atthe University of Minnesota MedicalSchool, Ms. Miller acknowledged thatabortion ends a life, but the rights andneeds of a woman supercede the rights ofthe unborn, she claimed.

This is one sure sign that our side iswinning, as overall abortion numbersdrop and abortuaries close it’s inevitablethat the abortion industry must removeany qualms women may have about hav-ing their children killed and the default toa mother’s “right” to an abortion ignoresthe humanity of the unborn and the sanc-tity of life.

40 Days for Life and Pro-Life ActionMinistries even though interdenomina-tional, Christian organizations, have hada large Catholic base for many years.During this campaign, there was activeparticipation from other denominations, including Bethlehem Baptist Church, located about three blocks away fromWhole Woman’s. Bethlehem has “adopt-ed” this abortion center as its Sanctity ofLife ministry focus and has memberswho pray and sidewalk counsel there ona regular schedule.

Finally, we are bringing the gospel oflife to the street in a larger way and beinga witness to the workers in the building, the workers at the Hennepin CountyMedical Center next door and students ata Christian university across the street.

This is a good time to consider pray-ing anytime outside of Whole Woman’sor be trained as a sidewalk counselor.

Allthese methods (and others) can causevery early abortions by thinning the lin-ing of the uterus so that if breakthroughovulation occurs (which it sometimesdoes) and a new life is conceived, theyoung human being may not be able toattach to the uterine lining and thereforehe or she dies. These methods can alsobe very dangerous, even deadly, to thewoman. If you would like to go to acompletely pro-life physician, we have alist of such doctors. Call (651) 771-1500.

The criteria for placing someone onthis list is that the individual is directlyinvolved in committing abortions andthat this can be reasonably verified. Wehave resoundingly condemned any sortof physical or psychological threats toanyone involved in abortion. Mega-PP in Kissimmee(from page 2)

prayer, HIS boldness to speak and standagainst evil, and a oneness that can onlycome from a belief in Jesus Christ theKing of Kings and Lord of Lords!

Please join us in prayer and fasting, pleading with the Lord to intervene onbehalf of the little baby boys and girls

who will lose their precious lives if thisplace of death is allowed to open! TheGod that parted the Red Sea can part thissea. Let's pray and walk up this moun-tain doing what we can to keepKissimmee free from the shedding ofinnocent blood!

Following the full-page ad, a secondcity commissioners’ meeting was packedout with concerned citizens, with stand-ing room only! This time, 30 minuteswas given to Dr. Littell, other physicians, pastors and businessmen who eloquentlyshared their concerns once again over theimpact this place of death would have ontheir community if opened. They chal-lenged the mayor and commissioners toenforce the zoning for the proposed loca-tion; the area is zoned B-5 for medical, not surgical! The mayor and the com-missioners hemmed and hawed, but thebottom line is that they are not willing toenforce this zoning law, and this PP willbe the first surgical facility allowed underthe B-5 restriction in this area! Themayor also made mention of getting suedby PP, and he made sure to let thecrowd know the city doesn’t want that!

And then, upon hearing there would bea ribbon-cutting/open house ceremonialwith none other than Democratic Con-gressman Alan Grayson as the ribboncutter, close to 200 citizens from Kiss-immee and surrounding areas of CentralFlorida showed up May 14 en masse! Itwas an incredible showing of God’s peo-ple singing “Amazing Grace” as wewalked through the parking lot single fileholding our signs and exposing the evilthat is trying to permeate this land inKissimmee! We were there to greet Rep.Grayson as he walked up for the galaevent and simultaneously everyone be-gan pleading with him to represent every-one, including the unborn human beings! The ribbon-cutting ceremony was to beheld outside, but as the 200 passionatefollowers of Christ pleaded, prayed andsang, PP finally cleared all the chairs andmoved inside!

What an incredible morning andGod was truly glorified!

I know that this is a mountain we areclimbing in trying to stop PP from mov-ing into Kissimmee, but I also know thatwith God all things are possible! I’veseen this at the first commissioners’meeting with close to 300 warriors show-ing up; the second one packed out again. And today for the ribbon cutting, withonly a couple days’ notice, God’s peopleshowed up armed with the word of God,

fetal development posters around school, hosting speakers, volunteering and rais-ing money for local pregnancy resourcecenters, and witnessing outside abortioncenters.

Hailey explained another project thegroup did this past year. Members filleda poster with more than 300 decoratedhearts and displayed it in the lunchroom. After two days, all the hearts were takenoff and and the poster was left blank. Thenext day, group members pinned a hearton their shirts while the poster read,"Where did all the hearts go? Ask some-one with a heart." When people asked,

they were told that each heart represent-ed 10 babies that die each day from abor-tion in the U.S. Finally, the next day, theposter revealed this startling statistic forall in the school to see. But then thatposter lasted only two hours before it wastaken down by administration (eventhough the group has official schoolapproval). Apparently there was a com-plaint that the poster was “offensive.”However, Leah said, “They could not tellus what was offensive about the poster orwhy it was ‘hindering the learning’ ofsome of the students.” Although it does-n’t surprise her, “it is unfair that ourgroup is treated differently than othergroups at the school,” she said.

The fetal development posters were alltaken down as well, despite the posterssimply having development facts writtenon them. And a “pro-choice” group wasformed at the school this past year. “Weare obviously making an impact on PriorLake High School,” Hailey said.

Both Hailey and Leah are graduatingthis spring, but new leaders were recent-ly voted in and Leah said, “I'm very con-fident that they will be able to keep itgoing and continue to help our groupgrow.” Hailey said new members arealways welcome and added, “Gettinginvolved in Lakers4Life is an easy firststep in joining the pro-life movement!”
