His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, Presi-dent of the University of Sharjah, inaugurated the "College of Engi-neering Annual Gradua-tion Projects Exhibi-tion," which comes this year under the slogan "Designing the Future." The exhibition was held at the University of Sharjah main building Following the official inauguration of the ex-hibition, His Highness toured at the various projects presented – approximately 124 – by students from all engineering Disciplines
The College of Engineering graduat-ing students focused in their projects on advancing various engineering systems in different fields as well as providing innovative solutions for many of the social challenges. They also focused on providing ideas for the major industries and services
projects from all related sectors. The students based their research on ap-plying their acquired engineering problem-solving skills and knowledge during their studies at the University of Sharjah for real-world challenges
His Highness listened to the stu-dents explaining their various gradu-ation projects in terms of the idea and inspiration behind the project, its scientific theory, its applications and significance, and the materials
used in assembling it. He also listened to the students sharing
the benefits resulting from applying their projects, their environmental impacts and consciousness, and the possibility of applying them and benefiting from them as innovative and futuristic scientific contributions. His Highness was also familiarized with the various innovations and ap-plications behind the students' ideas and projects as well as their future visions for finding solutions in the engineering field.

Since I have graduated in Jan 2018, I would like to take this oppor-tunity to thank His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emir-ates, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, and President of the Universi-ty of Sharjah for providing me full scholarship to pursue my PhD degree. IAEA Regional Training Course on Pressurized Water Reactor Technology using Nuclear Simulators
In cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Department of Nuclear Engineering has organized the first regional training course in the Middle East on Pressurized Wa-ter Reactor (PWR) technology using nuclear reactor simulators. The course was held from the 19th to 23rd of February 2018 and was attended by 18 participants from 8 countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. This 5-day course cov-ered the basic physics and technology of a PWR, hands-on exercise using 5 different nuclear simulators, and were also enriched with a visit to the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant site.

Architectural and Electrical Engineering students winning awards in the 6th UAE Undergraduate
Research Competition
In 30th April 2018, the UAE Undergraduate Research Competition was held at Abu-Dhabi University, where the college of engineer-ing students participated.
The department of electrical engineering won an award for their project
“IOT Controlled Autonomous Delivery Vehicle” by the students Odai Al-Dawoud, Abdollah Masoud, and Jahanzeb Rehman, super-vised by Dr. Bassel Soudan.
Whereas the architectural engineering department won both the 1st and 2nd awards in its field, with the 1st place was for the project “Refurbishment of Sharjah Schools” by Reem, Arwa and Eman, supervised by Dr. Vittorino Belpoliti. The 2nd place went to the project “New Generation Mall” by Jumana, Azza and Aya, super-vised by Dr. Hasim Altan.

Based on the collaboration between the University of Sharjah and Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), a joint research team from both entities were formed to study the current greywater reuse practice in the City of Sharjah
