Semi-finalist in Central West District singles. LUKE ELLISON: Won Commonwealth Trap (shooting) Carnival in Victoria, competing against many professional shooters. JASON HOPKINS: Captain of Forbes Magpies first grade in 2012 and winner of Mick Newson Memorial (best and fairest). RUTH QUINN: Part of winning teams in Forbes Women’s Bowl- ing Club’s major pairs, major triples and major fours and runner-up to Leisa Burton in singles. Runner-up in Central West District sin- gles. NEIL STEPHENS: An accredited ‘sweep’ with Forbes Dragon Boat Club, a role akin to boat captain, ensuring safety of crew and boat direction. JUNIOR SPORTSPERSON HAYDEN BOLAM: Part of Country Championships winning Under 16s Group 11 rugby league team and also had individual ho- nours, including NSW Country level. JACK CARTY: Jack won numerous medals and set records in swimming at club, district and regional level, and qualified for state carnivals. MADDISON COWAN: Maddison is an accredited Netball NSW National C Umpire, the youngest Forbes person to ever reach this level. ISABELLE COWHAN: Was part of the NSW Combined High Schools squash team, which won the 15 years girls division at titles. Current Forbes Squash Club women’s A-grade champion. MELANIE COWHAN: Melanie was selected for the second time in the Western Region Academy of Sport netball squad, for girls aged 14-17. Also named in WRAS 15 years talent identification team. SOPHI FUGE: Selected for state showjumping championships where she was 4th in the grand prix event. Also selected for state equestrian event but unable to attend. NIC GREENHALGH: Part of Country Championships winning Under 16s Group 11 rugby league team and also had individual ho- nours up to NSW Country level. Overall best and fairest (2012) with Forbes JRL. FYN HARRISON: Fyn is the youngest member of Forbes Swim- ming Club in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events and won the 25m breastroke at the Forbes club carnival. BRONTE HAYNES: Part of the Western Region Academy of Sport netball squad and 15 years talent identification team. Also member of the Forbes open reps team at State League carnivals. JESSICA PASCOE: Competed at Little Athletics NSW champi- onships in under 15 girls 400m, 800m (bronze medallist) and triple jump. Won gold in the 15 years 1500m and silver in 800m at the NSW CHS State Championships. LARISSA PEARSALL: Larissa was named best number two at last year’s Orange Polocrosse Carnival and best number two girl at Tumut carnival. Also named in top junior mixed side for the NSW Zone Championships. KAITLIN SIMPSON: Kaitlin is an accredited Netball NSW Na- tional C umpire, the second youngest Forbes club member to achieve this. Also part of Forbes Netball’s 15 years and open reps teams at regional and State League competitions.
