introducing...NAME: Kenny Waters
ROLE AT FC: MUSICIAN
KENNY’S MOSTMEMORABLE F.CMOMENT:“I love that so manytalented folks pulltogether and share theirgifts and faith with zerothought of self gain, promotion or praise. Inan age of reality tv andtalent shows, it’s very refreshing and positively
counter-cultural. The evening in the Buff Club was
a great example; dancers, musicians,
photographers, a new web-site on the go - all done
in a funky and relevant setting as the boundaries
are continually pushed back.”
F.C SAYS:“One of our favourite moments with Kenny was
asking him while rehearsing: ‘does it blow your
mind how talented you are?’ With characteristic
humility he pretended he hadn’t heard. The
question was genuinely posed though, because
Kenny plays music effortlessly. He has used this
immense talent often and generously at our events
over the years and we are so chuffed to have him
as a great friend and spiritual support at
Fire.Cloud. His quiet demeanour belies an
impressive chin up record too; challenge him with
caution - this guy has some steel!”
girls of spiritEarly this summer three of our team packed up and travelled southof the river to work on our first ‘Girls of Spirit’ event for S3 girls. Thepupils gave us a good Glasgow welcome and together we spenttime considering their prayers for the future and their hopes for thetype of women they want to become. We were much inspired bytheir questions and ideas wish them lots of luck as they start theirfirst big year of exams!
intention of the month International events have been dominated in recent weeks bystories of death and loss.
Please pray with us for those who have prematurely lost peoplethey love in acts of violence, war or tragedy; that they will beconsoled and not feel alone in their grief.
easter ross update:Way up North in a Scottish village a small group of friends andacquaintances are quietly going about the business of socialchange. We’ve been working with this intrepid bunch asthey’ve created a year long ‘conversation’ exploring the artof listening and talking about the big questions of lifetogether. Over the coming months they’ll be sharing some ofthe fruits of their discussion through their website and more. One of their questions has been ‘what lifts your spirit?’ - that’sa good one to have up your sleeve next time there’s a lull inconversation at the bus stop!

hidden lanefestivalThe best part of the West End Festival happened right onFire.Cloud’s doorstep when the Hidden Lane Festivalbrought the Lane to life on Saturday 25th June. Despitepredictably bad weather, the Lane was choc full of WestEnd scenesters checking out the live music, stalls, food andfashion shows. There was even a (damp) Turkish lounge anda man wearing a fez. We opened our doors for the day atFire.Cloud HQ so anyone could pop in for a chat, and madesome new friends as a result. A grand day was had by alland we are already looking forward to next year’s sun-soaked – we live in hope – Hidden Lane Festival.
