CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS We congratulate our college students on completing another year of study despite the COVID-19 virus making it more difficult to get an education. The following students who submitted applications and will receive a col-lege scholarship from our church are:

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP (This scholarship is for any college student who has been accepted into an accredited college and has been a member of our church for at least one year. It is a budget line item in our church budget and is equally divided

between the qualified applicants.)

Faith Archer Corine Barnes Audrey Colnot Isaac Hughes Jacob Knox Evan Revis

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP (This scholarship is awarded to students studying for the ministry

at an accredited Baptist College or University. The scholarship applicant must be a member of our church for at least one year.)

Usually these recipients are awarded their scholarship monies during a worship service. However, in light of the virus, the Scholarship Committee felt it wise to mail the checks to each person. May God bless each of these students as they further their education.

CHURCH FINANCES

Your financial support of the church is important to our continuing minis-tries. As a church we will spend only what is necessary for the maintenance of the church. Please mail your contributions to PO Box 839 Ruther-fordton, NC 28139. You may address them to Debbie Turner’s attention for confidentiality. You can also take advantage of our online giving at www.firstbaptistrutherfordton.com. This is through PayPal. If you prefer to give online, you should be aware that there will be a small percentage of your donation taken out by PayPal to be used as a service fee. FAMILY MINISTRY NEWS

Children’s Ministry: we will continue to have the BIG idea on Wednes-day nights via Zoom for the month of June. In lieu of online devotional videos, we will be doing some “hands on” lessons using sign language. This is a neat way of teaching our kids some basic sign language, and it’s a helpful tool in helping them recall our Bible story for the week!

Youth Ministry: we are changing things up a little bit for the month of June. We will continue to meet on Sunday nights via Zoom for some games (with weekly prizes!), but for our Bible study time, we will be split-ting into small groups. Each small group leader will be in contact with stu-dents about the best day/time to meet. This allows for deeper discussion around issues the group would like to discuss. -John
