God’s love in all circumstances, who lives the life and the love of Jesus Christ through us. In this faith I will seek to live in harmony with God, with people everywhere, and with all of creation. Amen.

(Sitting) L: We offer thanks to you, Creator God, for your artistry in frost and snow in the icy stillness of winter, for new life bursting forth and blooming in spring. C: We thank you for sunshine and rain and for growth in summer, which you nurture into the fruitful abundance of autumn. L: We thank you for the seasons of the spirit, for joy and sorrow, for pleasure and pain, for gladness and grief, for friendship and solitude. C: We are grateful to you for your sustaining presence in all circumstances, and for giving us the strength through which we can do all things. L: We pray for those who because of greed or selfishness exploit the gifts of the earth, that they may learn to be careful stewards of your creation. C: We pray for all who by their commitment and involvement are working to preserve our planet, that you would multiply their efforts. L: We pray for those who suffer from prejudice, poverty, or pain, that you would draw near to them and provide for them true justice and mercy. C: We pray for those whose lives are being wasted in careless living or despair, that they may find the joy of self-discipline and hope that comes through Christ. L: We pray for your whole church, that it may become a powerful agent of reconciliation and renewal in the name of Jesus Christ. C: We pray for all people, that everyone will recognize your awesome majesty and bow in obedient and joyful service. * Meet and Greet Your Neighbors in Christ

Change Can Make a Difference

Oct. 17 – Nov. 14, 2021 Starting today, we will begin to save our coins and dollar bills for the new outreach program for women with addictions, “Beneath the Shade”. This local organization, under the direction of Kathy Neal, provides a safe place of refuge for women to work on their struggles and addictions in their lives. We know that change does make a difference!

We played in the leaves, breathed in the autumn air and soaked up the morning sunshine.

Chosen People Ministries is a 127-year-old mission, founded in 1894 by Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian rabbi who came to believe that Jesus is the Messiah of Israel. From humble beginnings in Brooklyn, New York, Chosen People Ministries has grown into a worldwide ministry with outreach centers in Argentina, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Israel, Mexico, Ukraine, and the United States. Throughout its long history, Chosen People Ministries has been unwavering in its commitment to bring the gospel message of salvation in Jesus “to the Jew first and also to the Gentile.” In sharing the Jewish roots of the Christian faith, Chosen People Ministries hopes to make the message of the Messiah more accessible to Jewish people and also to help Christian believers achieve a greater appreciation of the Jewish basis of their own faith traditions. Our Mission and Outreach Opportunities

Save a Heart, Save a Life Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you were put in a situation that you had to save someone’s life – the life of a family member or close friend, or even someone sitting in church next to you? Would you know what to do? Would you know what steps to take to save that person’s life? Are you up to the challenge to save a heart and possibly save a life? Your Board of Trustees are asking for your help in getting members of the congregation certified in the use of the AED, as well as CPR and first aid application. Certification is good for two years, and must be repeated every two years.

Anyone interested in Re-training to be qualified to use an AED or CPR, please call the church office

at 330-364-8831, to register by October 30. If you have any questions, please contact

Jeannie Michel at 330-343-1132.

Re-training will be Saturday, November 13, from 9-1 p.m. at the YMCA.

There are 10 spots available, so sign up early. Dover First will pay the fee for anyone wanting to register.

The State of Ohio passed the Good Samaritan Law in November, 1998, that protects properly trained AED users against liability. Remember the heart and life you save just might be that of a loved one, friend or someone sitting next to you in church.

A Thank You to the Congregation by Jeannie Michel

The Board of Trustees wishes to thank everyone who has contributed so generously to help our church continue to serve God and one another. Because of your generosity, we have been able to stay current with all of our financial obligations, and to undertake several major projects lately. Proposals and quotes were sought, considered and awarded for these projects: An extensive landscaping project, consisting of removing the old trees on the curb strip, installing an in-ground irrigation system, leveling the soil and planting new grass has been done. B&H Landscaping of Strasburg and Grabill Plumbing of Beach City were the contractors. The majority of the project cost was funded by a generous church member. The City of Dover removed the old trees and will plant new ones in the spring. A new digital telephone system to replace the 30-year-old system that failed awhile back is on order and will be installed upon arrival by Staley Communications of New Philadelphia. The flat roof on our rental property occupied by Z Hair Salon is failing and will be replaced in November by M.E.B. Systems of Sugarcreek. Dakota Tree Service will be removing overgrown pine trees and vegetation in the back yard of the parsonage. Proposals for a fence will be considered so it can be installed after the removal work is complete. We are touched by your generosity, and we are grateful to you. We believe the Lord is also and will reward you, according to 2 Corinthians 9:6-8: “Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” Jeannie Michel, President; Julie Williams, Vice-President/Fiscal Officer; Karol Jones, Secretary; Becky Mastin, Adrian Schaar, Matt Stephens, Bill Woodward, Dan Yeager, April Yoder
