I have been amazed by a daycare that has touched so many lives of young children. Precious Memories Daycare has been a main service spot for FLP through the years, but not only has this service sight been a commitment to our biweekly service, but a favorite place to go for many of us. We enjoy seeing the young eager faces of children looking for a playmate or a hug, and we love to spend anytime we have with these kids to make them smile. I decided to do my Long Term Project (LTP) at Precious Memories Daycare for the purpose of bringing a little extra sunshine and smiles to the kids everyday. In other words, make more kid friendly place to play. That is why I decided to take charge of drawing and painting a mural inside the building. One Saturday afternoon, myself and a team got together to start our painting festivities for the day. I arrived at Precious Memories a tad earlier to draw my vision of the mural on the wall, and then as the swarm of Flippers staggered in at 10:00 am we began our adventure. I can not disregard that it was a little chaotic considering the fifteen people we had to paint one wall, but by the end it was all worth it. A little elbow grease, a few less hours of sleep, and some
Chaos Town was so much fun. As a city councilman for Chaos Town opposed to Chaos Heights I had a fantastic time dealing with issues brought to me. It was very difficult at first because we were very unsure of what to do but as the game proceeded we got better and better at our task. Doug McAcy did a fantastic job as the mayor of Chaos Town. He was able to balance the complaints of the people that were brought directly to him as well as those that were directed through the Town Council.
Accomplishing the dual tasks of completing the town master plan and
dealing with all the peoples requests was not an easy task. Doug took great control though by sitting everyone down and telling them that they needed to handle things one at a time. Once everyone settled down it was very easy to accomplish things. Being a City Councilman it was very interesting to see how all the upper parts of government worked. As Public Safety I had to deal with tasks such as reducing crime and keeping out individuals from Chaos Heights. Overall I found that Chaos Town was a great way to work on leadership and also to bring out the different leadership styles of the different individuals.

FLP’ers paint a scenic beach mural.

paint is all it took to create a masterpiece of light and sunshine on the wall of Precious Memories Daycare. This LTP was probably the best choice for me; I was able to get my fellow FLP’ers involved and create something that concretely never existed before. We were able to help the kids, Grandma Verna, and the daycare all at the same time with the effort we put into one mural on one wall to make Precious Memories that much more beautiful.
