Supplies Needed:

• 1 fat quarter of fashion fabric (prewashed and no fabric softer)

• 1 fat quarter or remnant of your choice for backing (prewashed and no fabric softer)

• 1 Piece of Floriani Press-N-Bond 8.5 x 11”• 2 Packages of Jumbo Rick Rack or Seam

binding• Floriani Thread to Match• Design for Bib (I used one of our free designs

from Floriani Software)• Floriani Perfect Stick• Heat & Gone or Water Soluble Topping• Floriani Template Tearaway• Walt’s pressing Cloth• Embroidery Machine• Size 14 Embroidery needles• Fabric Marking pen, pencil or chalk• Pattern of your choice

1. Choose your design and print template on Floriani Template Tearaway.

2. Any small bib pattern should work for the bib, but I just folded a piece of paper in half and marked neck whole and rounded corners for mine.

3. Open paper pattern out and mark on area of fabric you will be using for your bib.

4. Trim the template to fit your frame and place on fabric.

5. After marking your pattern on your fabric, place Floriani Perfect Stick in the correct size embroidery frame. Score paper facing up in frame and place your fabric on frame.

6. I folded template at center mark of my hoop to help with placement.

7. Then place on Perfect stick that you have in frame.

11.Remove topping.

12.Now you have your design place perfectly on the bib area and ready to apply your Press-N-Bond sheet to the back of the bib area.

8. Place on embroidery machine and align correctly.

9. Cover design area with Water Soluble Topping or Heat and Gone.

10.Embroider design and remove from frame.

15.Peel off paper backing of Press-N-Bond; wrong side of bib fabric will look shiny.

16.Place wrong side of bib to wrong side of backing fabric.

13.Cover with Walt’s Pressing Cloth and apply to wrong side of bib fabric with paper side facing you should be firmly adhered to wrong side of fabric following instruction on packaging.

14.Now trim out your bib with scissors.

19.The choice is yours at this point, rick-rack or binding? Your decision. I personally like the cute look of rick-rack. Sandwich the bib between two pieces of jumbo (5/8”) and stitch with a straight stitch alone both sides.

17.Move to ironing board and cover with Walt’s Pressing Cloth and adhere the two together, per instruction on packaging.

18.Now bib has front and back fabric, trim out from the backing.

20.Go around outside of bib first them trim off rick-rack.

21.Cut two pieces of rick-rack the same length and sandwich together from center of bib, sew along both sides. This will form the ties for bib.

22.Finish off by candling the ends of rick-rack, tie your bow and give to your little one.
