Do’s
Do treat the child the same whether he or she wins or losses
Do try to have fun and enjoy the events and the travel. Your unhappiness can breed a child’s guilt.
Do look relaxed calm. Positive and energized on the sidelines. Your attitude will help the child play
better.
Do make friends with other parents a the event. Socializing can make the event more fun.
Do get involved if the child's behavior is unacceptable during match play . Your child doesn’t want to
be labeled a jerk.
Do let the coach do the coaching. Too much input fan confuse the child. You are paying top dollar for a
coach let them earn it.
Do understand that the child needs a break from tennis occasionally. It doesn’t mean the child is
quitting or burning out.
Do be there when the child loses or gets discouraged. Be an understanding listener, not a fixer.
Do., at same time, give the child some space when he or she loses. Your youngster will want to be
alone for a while, and then he/she will be okay.
Do keep your sense of humor. When you laugh and have fun, your child’s stress level will drop.
Do be tough on your player where sportsmanship and cheating are concerned — nobody wants to be
saddled with a poor sport or cheater label. Stop it now.
Support your child emotionally, financially, and logistically.
You have three roles as a parent
1. Support
2. Support
3 Support
13
Don’ts
Don’t say “Were playing today.” Instead “You’re laying today.” This is your child’s match: Help them learn how to be responsible for
preparing to play (registration, match check-in).
Don’t get too pushy.
Don’t turn away when the child behaves in an unsportsmanlike manner on or off the court.
Don’t tell the child what he or she did wrong or right after a tough match.
Don’t ask the child to talk to you immediately after a loss.
Don’t try to take the coach’s job away. Be the parent.
Don’t make enemies with your child’s opponent’s parents during the match.
Don’t act negatively and angrily on the sidelines unless your child is acting in a unsportsmanlike manner; they’ll pick up on it in a
heartbeat.
Don’t make your life your child’s tennis-don’t live out your own dreams through your child’s tennis.
Don’t make your child feel guilty for all the time, money and sacrifices you’re making for his/her tennis.
Don’t think of your child’s tennis as an investment for which you expect a return.
Don’t compare your child’s progress with that of other children.
Don’t badger, harass, or use sarcasm to motivate your child.
Don’t talk about us (coaches, staff) talk to us, if you have comments or suggestions.
No coaching from the side (serve and volley, hit to the backhand).
Don’t’ equate winning with Love!!
This is probably the absolute most import thing NOT to do. You must have unconditional love for your child.
This is a great game. You and your kids will have fun, grow and make great friends – everyone can be a winner.

Official Team LineOfficial Team Line--up Scorecard FAQ’sup Scorecard FAQ’s
Scorecard FAQ’s: Note that most of the information at the top of the scorecard has already been filled out for your convenience.
Please be sure to use the appropriate match card for your matches.
PRINT the player’s FIRST NAME first, then LAST NAME
No Nicknames and NO First/Last name Initials
Do not fill in the following spaces: Court #, Time On/Off and NTRP Level
Each team will receive a full scorecard, however, it is the home captain’s responsibility to turn card in signed by
both captains directly after match is complete.
The appropriate # of line-up cards are given to you, so don’t lose them. If by some chance you do lose one of
these cards, we can replace it with a very ugly replacement card showing other captains just how organized
you are.
As long as courts are available, matches will go on early, PLEASE be sure to have ALL your players for each match
READY TO PLAY.
Line-ups are due 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match time.
Your cooperation with this procedure is greatly appreciated, as it will assist with keeping matches on schedule.

Rainouts or Suspended PlayRainouts or Suspended Play
Rainouts or Suspended Play
Play is continuous until such time as the Tournament Official officially declares
that play has been suspended. Players should not leave the Championship site
until the Tournament Official has officially issued a statement as to when play will
be resumed. An individual match has officially started when the warm up period
has been completed, and the first service attempt has occurred.
No Individual Matches have Started Play.
If line-ups have been submitted to the tournament desk and subsequently the
team match has been declared a rain-out by the Tournament Official, and no
individual matches have started play, a new line-up may be presented at the start
of the rescheduled team match.
Match Play has Started.
If the team match has started and play has been suspended, and play will be
resumed on the same day, at a rescheduled time, match play will resume with
the same players in the same positions, where play stopped at the exact score,
set and game point (any point played is always counted and never replayed). All
completed games, sets and individual matches will stand as played. Any
individual match indicated as a forfeit on the initial line-up will remain as a
forfeited match. No player changes may be made.
If the team match has started and play has been suspended and play has
been rescheduled for another day,
a new line-up may be presented for any individual match that has not started,
and for any individual match indicated as a forfeit on the initial line-up. Individual
matches that started will resume play at the point play was suspended.
