“Transition to Secondary One : Guide to Life in Secondary School”

OVERVIEW Young teens today are facing an upheaval task fighting inevitable stresses in their lives. It can be academic, environmental or family stresses. Parents can do their part to understand and help their children so that they will have a good head start, preparing them well for the new journey ahead. Less unnecessary anxiety will occur if children have some prior knowledge of what is installed for them in Secondary School. So how can you help your child integrate into Secondary School life successfully? In this session we will learn what your child may be facing in the first 2 years of Secondary School life:-
The changes your child is going through (Environmental, Social and Physical) How changes in parenting style will help you How do you communicate with your teenage child
Come and join us to discover interesting ways to help your child cope with this new phase of their lives!
PROFILE of the SPEAKER : Mrs Frances Lim Frances was born in England and trained as a nurse in Oxford where she met her Singaporean husband who used to work for Singtel in charge of International business. They have lived in Singapore for over 30 years and have brought up 4 wonderful children, two of whom have now chosen to live and work in London. Frances has a passion to help Singaporean parents develop a parenting style which encourages the best aspects of Western and Asian parenting…the fun and creativity of Western parents with the commitment and discipline of Asian parents. She believes that every child is precious and the best gift we can give them is a good and balanced upbringing. Frances has been trained by Focus On The Family and TOUCH Family Services and has been conducting workshops and classes for the past 9 years.
