On that day, the pro posed constitution was ratified, the officers were elected. Immediately afterwards, the club was accepted by the ad ministration as a permanent organization and received its charter. This gave the Forestry Club the distinction of becoming the first permanent, chartered, organization at Paul Smith’s.” And in 1987, the Forestry Club continues to be an important part of student life. The Forestry Club has been very active throughout the past year. The Club has accomplished almost all the goals that were set for the year. The Forestry Club Cabin was the main focus of our work. Thanks to the efforts of Cathy Andrews, Gould Hoyt and The Forestry Cabin- a place for learning and enjoying several alumni, the much needed fireplace repairs have been completed. Both fireplaces now have protective cop per hoods. Other projects at the cabin included overhauling the aging water system and the construction of a new wall on the back porch which has made the porch more structurally sound. Aside from working at the cabin, the Club has managed to raise a substantial amount of funds. The Club has also hosted several parties, picnics and ski-trips. Most of these events were open to the entire campus and were well attend ed. Perhaps the main event was the 21st Annual Spaghetti Dinner, held on March 21, 1987. By all accounts, the dinner was, as usual, a great success. . I r I) ’TIIM I’I'T’I’ Cathy Andrews, Advisor ?!//

As the 1948 St. Regian sta ted , “ T he Forestry Club of Paul Smith’s College s ta rted o ff with a bang as soon as it was organized on O ctober 30, 1947. O n that day, the proposed constitution was ratified , the officers were elected. The Forestry Club has been very active throughout the past year. The Club has accom plished alm ost all the goals that were set for the year.

The Forestry Club C abin was the m ain focus of our work. Thanks to the efforts o f C athy A ndrews, G ould Hoyt and

The Forestry Cabin- a place for learning and enjoying

several alumni, the much needed fireplace repairs have been completed. Both fireplaces now have protective copper hoods.

Most of these events were open to the entire campus and were well attended. Perhaps the main event was the 21st Annual Spaghetti Dinner, held on M arch 21, 1987. By all accounts, the dinner was, as usual, a great success.
