What is Focus on Forestry First?
• WAG /EU Funded programme for the trees and timber sector, concentrating on forestry first.
• 100% funding for knowledge transfer training.• Up to 75% funding for skill development
training.• Up to 80% funding for training for new
entrants.

How do I qualify?
• Be a legitimate business that predominantly works in forestry and or the trees & timber sector.
• Business must reside in Wales.• Business with an address outside Wales, but carries out 75% of
its work in Wales• Employees reside in Wales.• Register as a member of the project.

What will it cost me to register?
• 1-2 employees or self employed £75• 3–10 employees £100• 11+ employees £150• This is a one off registration fee paid at
the start, and is valid for the 3 years of the project. Feb 2010-2013

What do I get in return?• Free training plan drafted.• Attendance of as many 100% funded Knowledge transfer
seminars and short workshops as required ( must attend at least 2 per beneficiary during the 3year project)
• Up to 75% funded skill training up to a maximum of £1000 per person per course, and a maximum of £3000 per person per annum.
• Access to your employees current training records on line

How is skill training funded?
• Businesses will be expected to pay 25% of the course cost up front for the training.
• Payment to be made to Focus on Forestry First -
• All courses will receive a certificate of training detailing course objectives

Review employee records on line
• The Project aims to keep a database of all Member business trainees, to which each business can have online access to their own records only.
• We will input your current records, and keep it up to date with outcomes from the project
