Led by strategic research into how businesses and employees function, these products help achieve goals and solve problems within the workspace furniture industry.

Focus Quiet Room 3 — 4Designer

Led by Design and Marketing Director Anton Schiavello, the Schiavello Design Studio is made up of a number of multi-disciplinary designers and makers with expertise in industrial design, fashion design, engineering and medical design. With varying strengths and specialties, the team

collectively shares experiences from in and around the furniture industry and brings its expertise to

newly developed Schiavello products.

Maintaining thoughtful, innovative and research-driven outlooks on design trends, the

Schiavello Design Studio has been the driving force behind a number of the company’s most successful designs. Some of the team’s most notable concepts

include Krossi in 2013 – the first and only Australian made and designed sit/stand desk

– and the pioneering Climate workplace system in 2010, which is still one of the most malleable

products of its kind. In addition, the studio continues to develop Schiavello’s furniture offering, catering to changing typology trends, business and people needs and technology requirements, while maintaining product quality, longevity, effortless visual appeal and environmental sustainability.

Focus Quiet Room is an intricately crafted soundproof booth developed through years of experience and research. Combining the finest of materials, expert craftsmanship and the meticulous consideration of soundproofing, Focus Quiet Room creates a place of uninterrupted focus and privacy within offices.

With an insulated ceiling and walls, paired with sound absorbing, high performance acoustic seals, Focus Quiet Room aims for an exemplary acoustic rating of Rw37. In addition, thick, 10.38mm laminated glass and an automatic drop seal at the base of the door ensure there is no opportunity for sound to intrude or escape. This considered engineering results in a room where employees can go to focus and get things done.


Distracting and intrusive noise can lead to poor concentration and, as a result, is a costly problem for businesses today. Research suggests that office workers lose over an hour per day due to uncontrolled interruptions. Focus Quiet Rooms create a place of solace from the bustling surrounding environment – a place where concentration can occur without distraction.

Create a bespoke Focus Quiet Room that will work seamlessly with your interior palette. Each room comes completely customisable with a wide range of fabric and leather upholstery options as well as hard finishes such as laminate or veneer, via Schiavello’s ColourLab palette.

As with any Schiavello product, the customisation options of Focus Quiet Room are endless. Create the booth you want with a wide range of shapes, add-ons and functions. The units are even able to be reconfigured after years of use.


From a phone booth to a meeting room

Focus Quiet Rooms are available in three sizes to create the right place for an array of tasks or needs. The smallest room, the Phone Booth, is designed to fit a work shelf and stool to create a space for private calls. Within the mid-size unit, the Work Room, a generously proportioned armchair and a side table can be accommodated, or alternatively a desk chair and 1200mm (47.2”) wide workpoint, for solo, focused work. Meanwhile, in the Meeting Room – the most generous of Focus Quiet Rooms – a combination of furniture can be used, including a sofa and executive desk for a private office, or a table with chairs to create a confidential meeting room.

Best practice in accessibility has informed the Focus Quiet Room’s generous proportions. Not relying on a raised floor, the pod design is completely flexible, meaning that alterations to standard configurations are easily accommodated, allowing specific dimensional requirements for all accessibility needs to be met.


Complete comfort

Focus Quiet Rooms come with integrated, motion-sensor lighting services in the ceiling, with the ability to be customised to the walls or to add additional lighting fixtures.

Integrated and concealed motion-sensor fans in the ceiling circulate air flow and maintain the space’s comfortable temperature. Quiet and seamless, the fan creates air movement while allowing phone conversations or meetings to remain completely undisturbed.


A true companion to the modern workspace

Focus Quiet Room is able to come integrated with a range of customisable technology functions, including power, HDMI, USB and mounting for screens. They can also be customised with shelves, workstations and accessories such as whiteboards and pinboards.
