And when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?” But they kept silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:35ff

1. As we receive blessings, we are to bless others, not just to keep for ourselves.

2. Our serving others should come out of a relationship of love with God, not being forced to do it.

3. As we serve others we are to humble ourselves, considering ourselves servants of others.

4. Rulers are not to oppress but to serve and protect.
