This is a comprehensive list of the amazing different databases that Harbor School subscribes to, with a description of what they are used for and the age group they are appropriate for. Log-on information and passwords are included here, unless they have been distributed on an individual basis. Different colored stars denote resources for different age groups. Novelisto The best reader’s advisory database available for adults. NoveList, a readers' advisory

service, not only provides access to information on 155,000 fiction titles, but it also offers a wide range of feature content including author read-alikes, book discussion guides, reading lists and more.

Novelist Plus K-8o The best reader’s advisory database available for students in elementary through junior

high school. By providing over 17,000 nonfiction titles, 9,000 fiction and nonfiction series titles, 450 award lists, and over 700 booktalks Novelist K–8 Plus is the cornerstone in assisting students searching for just the right book. This database not only provides librarians with hundreds of curriculum-based titles, but it also allows for searching by reading levels, grade levels, popular titles, and genres. In addition, users can generate book lists to be printed immediately or create a personal folder for later use.

For Elementary Schoolo Primary Search

Primary Search provides full text for more than 70 popular, magazines for elementary school research. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles), and full text information dates as far back as 1990.

For Middle Schoolo Middle Search Plus

Middle Search Plus provides full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. All full text articles included in the database are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays. Middle Search Plus also contains 84,774 biographies, 105,786 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of over 502,000 photos, maps and flags

o Health Source - Consumer EditionThis database is the richest collection of consumer health information available to libraries worldwide, providing information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health. o MAS Ultra - School Edition Designed specifically for high school libraries, this database contains full text for nearly 500 popular, high school magazines. The TumbleBookLibrary provides enrichment to students who are reading independently with a variety of high interest material. It also provides support to students who require skill building with a variety of exercises that can be matched with other areas of the curriculum. In general, TumbleBooks are a great addition to a reading program that can be worked on independently by each student or by the whole class. It has been exceptionally well received by ELL and Special Education teachers.
