There are LOTS of ways you can show kindness. You can be kind to others, to the environment, even to yourself!

The week doesn’t follow a format, just simply… Be kind.

We have provided lots of ideas below to give you some inspiration. Please take photos of your child spreading kindness and if you can, like in previous weeks, email them to the school. You can also drop your teacher a kind message. We love to see them!

All submissions will be in with a chance to win an exciting prize.Moher Hill Open Farm in Co. Clare have kindly given us a pass for 2 adults and 3 children. Check out their website here. The winner will be announced on June 30th.

Self Kindness Ac#vity:Create a Calm Corner Just like during reading week you can create a calm quiet corner in your home where you can go to relax. This can be a small space in your bedroom or any room. You could.. ★ make it like a den or you may like to decorate a low table with objects

that are inspiring and calming. ★ Collect cushions, beanbags or a small rug to create a cosy snug. ★ Add positive photos or images of outdoor spaces or pictures of nature

scenes. ★ Play calming instrumental music. ★ Use an aromatherapy diffuser or spray lavender or mandarin oil into

the air to create a feeling of serenity and calm. Use a clean spray bottle and put a drop of lavender/mandarin oil in water. Make sure you change the water regularly.

★ A collection of small comfort cuddles or special things like crystals, candles, shells, flowers etc.

Activity: Create a Calm Box: Make up a calm box so you always have something to help you feel cool and calm. Find a box and put things that make you feel calm like a cool pebble, a feather, a stress ball, a cuddly toy and some art you have created. Activity: Write a Sunny Summer Letter to yourself: It is important that the letter is positive and filled with love. You can write or draw three things that you are good at, three things you are thankful for, who your best friends are and your wishes for the Summer Months. Can you seal it in an envelope and keep it safe until the day before we start back to school again?

No peeping!

Extra idea for older classes- Journaling: Great templates are available here

-Donate to charity:

Can you find some old toys/ clothes/ books that you do not need any more and donate them to a charity shop? Do you have five or ten cent left over in the shop? Could you put it in the charity box instead of in your pocket?

Attitude of Gratitude

Click here to for tips on how to cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude in your children.

Attitude of Gratitude Activity: Everyday, for the next week before you go to bed, can you think of or write down three things you are grateful for? If you have a little notebook it will easier to keep them all in the one place. For example- Today I am grateful that it did not rain, my brother did not annoy me and I got to eat an ice-cream!

A poem to finish…

It doesn’t matter who you are, Or what you have, or doIf you give your very bestThe best returns to you.

Kindness and compassion work,We get just what we earn.

When loving others with our hearts,We get love in return.

The little things we sometimes do

For others day by dayReturn to us surprisingly

In unexpected ways
