International Conference of Sports Car Clubs

404 North 6lst Avenue Yakima, WA 98908

Dear Car Collectors:

I'<' I\,'\ ~ ·~'·<'I Y\ll'lc\. \\ .\'111\:l; I,'\:,,,;,~

Sunday, July 25, 1982, will mark the first ever of what we in Olympia Rotary Club hope will be an annual Concours d'Elegance.

We are, quite frankly, following in the footsteps of the Rotary Club of Forest Grove, Oregon, who, as you know, has held an eminently successful event for nine consecutive years. We hope to imitate their show as closely as possible, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Therefore, we expect a vintage car show of the highest quality, and we expect to have car owners and spectators going away looking forward to our 1983 Concours.

Like Forest Grove, we will try to make the event especially enjoyable for those owners of premium vintage vehicles who take the trouble to bring them to our show. We will host a hospitality "hour" on Saturday evening, July 24th, and we willA arrange your hotel/motel reservations, or rooms in college dormitories. We will W have covered, guarded car storage for those who wish it, and we will have a guarded parking area set aside for those who bring their cars on trailers. Each entrant will receive a gift to commemorate having entered a car, and of course, class winners will receive handsome trophies. A special trophy will be awarded to the car judged Best of Show, and a Sweepstakes trophy will be given to the owner of the car chosen by the Olympia Rotarians.

A distinguished member of the hobby will serve as Senior Judge for the show, and cars will be judged by those knowledgeable in the specifics of each class. A "display only" class will be provided for those who do not wish to have their cars in competition, but who wish to share their premium vintage vehicles with others.

No entry fee will be charged of the car owner and spouse or a friend.

In order to allow us to send a special invitation and entry form to each of your club members, please send us your membership list by March 15 if possible, and we will send a number of entry forms to your club also, if you will specify how many you need. Tell us when and where you meet, and we will attempt to attend, to tell members more about our show.

Please mark Sunday, July 25th on your calendar now, and let us know as soon as possible, to whom to send entry forms, and how many. We look forward to seeing you, and to having a grand day.
