The 2005 racing season is now in the record books. Our final Championship race held Octo-ber 1st and 2nd at Pacific Raceways was wet and wild. Group 2 was the first race group of the day and in typical style, ended our season with a sensational 4-car accident. It just never seems to fail; the last race of the year always ends up claiming several racecars. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt; however, Sean Hester gave everyone several anxious moments while he was being extracted from his racecar. Our sport is extremely dangerous and accidents like this help to reinforce the reasons why we have safety equipment requirements for our drivers and their cars. It is also the reason ICSCC re-quires the Member clubs to have an Advanced Life Support ambulance on site during all on course activities. The last race event for Conference every year is the Cascade Enduro. This year on October 15th, Cascade Sports Car Club put on the 30th Annual Cascade Enduro race. I’m not sure how many of you realize the Cascade Enduro is the longest continuous running endurance race west of the Mississippi. And for all you enduro drivers and workers, IRDC is planning a 4 hour enduro at Pacific Raceways next spring. Stay tuned to this publication or the ICSCC website (icscc.com) for updates and announcements. The annual Fall, Contest Board and ROD meet-ings are scheduled for November 12th. These meetings will be held at the Sea-Tac Marriott in Seattle and begin at 9:00 am (ROD at 10 a.m.). (Are you paying attention Bill Hill?) All of these

meetings are open to any driver or worker in Conference. Please feel free to attend even it’s just for a short time. The purpose of the Contest Board meeting is to vote on rule changes for 2006. The Fall and ROD meetings are con-ducted to review 2005 and discuss improve-ments we can make in our racing program for 2006. In other words, we want to address how we can make our racing more cost effective, fun and safer for drivers and workers. Lastly, it is now time to recognize and pay trib-ute to our drivers and workers for their accom-plishments in 2005. The ICSCC 2005 Awards Banquet will be held on November 12th at the Sea-Tac Marriott in Seattle. DeeAnn Lensen is the Banquet Coordinator and this year’s theme is “White Night - An Evening of Accolades and Elegance”. Even I will be wearing a white coat. DeeAnn has scheduled a fantastic evening and I know everyone is going to have a wonderful time. Reservation forms are included in this Memo; please send in yours as soon as possi-ble. Steward’s Soapbox I have witnessed my last weekend as Steward: I wish I could report that it was clean and trouble free but it was not. Passes under a full course yellow, crashes under wet and cloudy skies… I had asked at the driver’s meeting for everyone to take it easy and end the season on a high note: maybe I should have kept quiet… I want to thank all the workers and volunteers that helped me this year, kept me honest and on time. For all those turn reports that came in detailed and accurate, and those race officials that had the patience to wait around while I filed papers – THANK YOU! And thanks to all the drivers out there that drove a good race, whether it was one event or every weekend. I don’t remember a season that had so many classes that were so close in points down to the last couple of events. It was great racing to watch, thank you for the show. It continues to be workers and drivers like you that give

Conference the great reputation for close, competitive, and safe racing. It’s what makes Conference racing fun. Lastly I’d like to turn the reins over to Art Metz, your new Steward for 2006. Art will do a great job in the role, and I wish him and his team all the best. Art, I promise not to be a pest, and will work really hard to not earn any personal penalties! (Mostly I’m thankful to not have to lug the scales around anymore.) ICSCC 2005 Fall Meetings will be held November 12 & 13, 2005 at the Sea-Tac Marriott Hotel. These include: • E-Board / ICSCC AGM - 9:00 a.m. • Contest Board Meeting - 9:00 a.m. • ROD meeting - 10:00 a.m. These meetings will begin at 9:00 am., and the rooms will be posted at the hotel. All of these meetings are open to any driver or worker in Conference. Please feel free to attend even if just for a short time. The purpose of the Contest Board meeting is to vote on rule changes for 2006. The Fall E-Board and ROD meetings will review 2005 and discuss improvements for 2006.
