Course of Studies - Contents and Objectives

The student of Romance language Studies (Italian/Spanish) learns scientifically relevant and analytical/methodical basic skills in the most important philological areas. Besides well-founded knowledge ofthe language and a competence in use of Italian and Spanish approaching that of native speakers, thestudent acquires a profound, structured and adaptable knowledge in the subdisciplines of Italian andSpanish linguistics, literature and cultural and regional studies. On this basis, the student is equippedto recognize fundamental and current philological questions and to apply scientific methods to them. Animportant place in studies is given to the development of the ability to analyse texts of all kinds fromliterary, cultural and linguistic perspectives. The aim of these studies is to equip students to deal withprofessional and academic challenges in all the various linguistic, textual and cultural contexts.
