For the week of February 14, 2020 In anticipation of the work we will be doing on the building this spring, the canopy on the front entryway will be removed during the President’s Day weekend. The work will be cleaned up and safe for use on Wednesday, February 19 th when the students return to school. Please contact the office with any questions. The PBIS theme for February is Optimism: Optimism is hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something. These first graders are optomistic about the snow!

night 5:30-7pm Adirondack Health Medical Fitness Center: open family swim to the public on Fridays from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. starting February, 7. This is free for any family who is a member and $15 per family for any family who is a nonmember

Dear Parents/Guardians: Students in Grades 2-3 are invited to join the Maker Club which will meet in the Elementary Library from 2:50-3:25 p.m. on Fridays as listed below. The first meeting is Friday,

February 21. Maker Club Meetings: February 21, 28

March 6, 13, 27 April 3, 24

May 1, 8 June 5 Each Maker Club meeting will focus on a different type of activity. The first meeting will be paper crafts: creating bookmarks, origami paper folding, Spirograph designs, thumbprints, and card stamping. If your child is interested in joining the Maker Club, please fill out the form below and return it to the Library by Thursday, February 20. If there is ever a change in how your child is getting home from school, please send a note. (If you already sent a permission form, no need to send one again.) Questions? Winter Family Fun Night at LPES Friday, February 28th 4:00-6:00 PM

Our first ever Winter Family Fun Night is a free event for the whole

family. The event is being planned and led by 5th grade students from

Mrs. Kelly’s homeroom, in partnership with Mrs. Brown (School Counselor) and the Family Connections Team. Family members of all ages are invited to come play together. Bring your own gear

or use ours! The Winter Family Fun Night will include free:

Pizza and Hot Cocoa

XC Skiing

Sledding

Snowshoeing

Crafts, Games, Maker Space Note: Some activities are dependent on weather and conditions. Event will be held unless school is canceled on 2/28. —————————————————————————————————
