Dennis the DinerDennis is a junior at the University of Michigan who
goes out to eat with his friends twice a week. He grew up
with an aversion for fast-food style restaurants, but he
loves dining at sit-down restaurants. As a result, his
group often has to deal with restaurant bills. This
wouldn’t be so bad, but he recently received a small card
case wallet as a birthday gift and thus he rarely carries
cash. In addition, his group of friends likes to share their
food, which makes splitting the final bill difficult.
Dennis often finds himself being the only one willing to
front restaurant bills for his group. So at the end of every
meal with his friends, he spends several minutes
calculating how much money each friend owes him for
the portions they ate, and sending out individual Venmo
charges. He’d really love for this process to be easier,
more accurate, and faster.

Elements of Dennis
Use CaseAs a frugal college student who
wants to go out to eat with friends
but doesn’t want to pay for them,
I need the process of paying on
my card to be easier so that I can
quickly and accurately have my
friends pay me back before they
forget to.
HypothesisBy using forkit, the user will spend 1/4th of the time splitting a
bill than they would through conventional methods.
