Residential facilities required for CCL manpower shall be met by the existing residential facilities of Barka-Sayal Area, CCL. Yes Due to excavation of strata seepage water gets accumulated at the floor of the coal seam in the sump having capacity to deal with in order to maintain the working faces dry for coal production. This water is to be pumped out daily. No extraction is to be done from surface water

1.24 Changes in water bodies or the land surface affecting drainage or run-off?

Yes A local change in ground topography will be created due to mining operation such as opening of incline and underground coal mining activities. As a result, there would be change in the drainage and surface run-off. Terpa Nala and Binja Nala is situated in core zone of the project. Part of Terpa and Binja Nala are proposed to be diverted and shall flow in the southern, western & eastern part of the block after diversion.

1.25 Transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning?

Yes Man riding vehicles for transportation of man from the surface to the working faces has been proposed. Men shall be transported by the diesel operated free steered vehicles/ battery operated free steered vehicles. Total 10 numbers of free steered vehicles have been proposed. Material Transportation to the different districts shall be done with multi utility vehicles. Four numbers(4nos.)(2 no* 15 Te capacity and 2 no*10 Te capacity) of multi-utility vehicles are proposed for the mine. For handling of the

Yes Final mine closure will be done with the sealing of the mine entry at the end of the project after decommissioning of the equipment and removal of the facilities at the site.

Yes As these areas are coal bearing area having very good mining potential, associated mining activities in future with numerous closely located centers as indicated at 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 along with other activities like coal beneficiation and power generation etc. can not be ruled out. This could lead to cumulative impact on environment.
