•What what was the last conversation you had today? What was the first?

•What are the rules to a conversation?

•The form of interactive, spontaneous communication between two people, who are following rules of etiquette.

What is a conversation?

•Interactive- Contributions are reactions to what was previously said.

•Spontaneous- Starts, continues, and weaves unexpectedly.

•Etiquette- Social interactions depend on social convention.

Interview Project

•Our first interview project will once again center on the self in an effort to try and showcase ourselves with a little more personality then our photo-bio. What better way to complete that task then with an old fashion interview.

Project Goals

•Establish well framed shots

•Simple use/operation of the camera

•Performing on camera

•Writing content for media

•Editing a final product

Requirements

•You will be paired up!

•Each person must be the interviewer and interviewee

•The subject is you! Talk about your hobbies, interests, activities, friends and family etc.

Requirments

• Each person needs 15-20 well constructed questions. Think open ended!

• Quick introduction to yourself, and your guest.

• Between 1:50min and 2:00min (timing is key)

• Final edit must have at least 5 cuts

• Final edit must fade in/out

• All content must be school appropriate

•Prepare your goals and questions ahead of time.

•Think about how you want the conversation to flow, and where you want your topics to go.

•There needs to be natural flow and structure.

•A good interview starts with a good interviewer

•Make sure you enunciate your words (No marble mouth).

•Maintain good eye contact with the interviewer (not with the camera).

•Be aware of your body movement (making sure to stay in frame).

•Try and keep them organized.
