the Needs:Water shortage, and the consumption of contaminated water are currently amongst the biggest concerns worldwide; it is becoming a global problem seriously affecting the lives of a high percentage of the world’s population. The sub-Saharan African region belongs to the most affected areas in the world.

“Lack of access to clean water and basic sanitation kills more people each year than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined – and children are the most affected.”[Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST)]

“Every day, millions of people in West Africa struggle to get access to clean and safedrinking water. It is estimated that more than 1,000 people in the region die each dayfrom illnesses related to unsafe water.”[World Health Organization]

“No matter where we live, there is a water crisis unfolding around us. Globally, one in five people do not have access to clean drinking water.”[World Changing, A User’s guide for the 21st Century].

reFereNce projects:Delamere Apartments, Lagos (Nigeria):Designed and installed an innovative and affordable water treatment system to treat shallow borehole water with a long standing problem of pungent smell and severe discoloration (a serious and commonplace problem in the Lekki area of Lagos State, which is complex to resolve and has led to many cases of waterborne diseases). Low cost and low maintenance solution provided by FW has made the water free of smell, colour and disease causing micro-organisms. Client has recommended FW to others based on quality of service provide and the unique/innovative nature of solution implemented.

Mediterranean Recreation Centre, Abuja (Nigeria):Designed and built a new water distribution system to supply water at high pressure to the facility. Previous water distribution system at the facility was inadequate & poorly designed leading to very low water supply pressure. New gravity system designed and built by FW met and exceeded expectations and requirements of client. Client has subsequently awarded further water projects to FW.

9

sustAiNAbility:Eco-friendly and sustainable projects are pivotal to the forward strategy of Fountain Water. Our sustainable engineering approach utilizes modern technologies to help industrial and commercial clients minimize waste and allow more efficient use of water.

Climate change is expected to impact all aspect of the water cycle, including the quality and availability of water resources as well as the infrastructure vital to services. Further treatment will be necessary to meet required quality standards. Fountain Water adopts the source principle, which prevents environmental damage at the source, rather than using ‘end-of-pipe technology’.
