four part letter series - part 3

Why World Team? As we shared in the previous letter, it is overwhelming and sobering how many adults and children in Cameroon have yet to hear about Christ and have the Word of God in their hands. We have had the conviction since we were saved 12 years ago to share Christ with people. We were, and still are, so grateful for what Christ did for us 2,000 years ago on the Cross that we want to let others know. It has only been in the last 2 years that it has become clear we should go to people groups that do not have the Word of God and the message of eternal life. Two years ago, we attended our church’s Frontier Mission’s class and were asked to write a key word that impacted us during the 12 week class, seal it in an envelope and it would be mailed to us 4 weeks later to remind us. We wrote “unreached”. In those 4 weeks we entertained many other ideas (within our comfort zone, of course.) However, when that envelope arrived, it brought us right back on track. We k new we needed a missions organization whose sole purpose was to reach the unreached. Some World Team missionaries spoke in our mission’ s class and World Team stayed in the back of our minds. Just 6 months ago, we went on World Team’s website and saw how extensively they were reaching the unreached and with vision to reach so many more. It was clear that this was the organiz ation for us. “How shall they hear…”  The third of four letters explaining our vision for reaching the unreached in Cameroon, West Africa

Why World Team?

As we shared in the previous letter, it is

overwhelming and sobering how many adults

and children in Cameroon have yet to hear

about Christ and have the Word of God in their

hands. We have had the conviction since we

were saved 12 years ago to share Christ with

people. We were, and still are, so grateful for

what Christ did for us 2,000 years ago on the

Cross that we want to let others know. It has

only been in the last 2 years that it has become

clear we should go to people groups that do

not have the Word of God and the message of

eternal life.

Two years ago, we attended our church’s

Frontier Mission’s class and were asked to write a key word that impacted us during the 12 week class,

seal it in an envelope and it would be mailed to us 4 weeks later to remind us. We wrote “unreached”. In

those 4 weeks we entertained many other ideas (within our comfort zone, of course.) However, when

that envelope arrived, it brought us right back on track. We knew we needed a missions organization

whose sole purpose was to reach the unreached. Some World Team missionaries spoke in our mission’s

class and World Team stayed in the back of our minds. Just 6 months ago, we went on World Team’s

website and saw how extensively they were reaching the unreached and with vision to reach so many

more. It was clear that this was the organization for us.

World Team’s Vision

World Team’s vision is to bring the Gospel within reach of lost people everywhere they go. As new

believers are discipled, churches are established and leaders are developed and released into ministry.

Then in turn, churches will plant churches so that multiplication becomes the norm and movements of

nationally-led churches transform their own communities and beyond.

Our choice of World Team was confirmed to us during RACE week (Reciprocal Assessment & Candidate

Evaluation) in July. There we met and skyped many World Team missionaries and learned so much

about their ministries. We were also assessed as to where our God-given skills and passions would fit

which was exactly what we needed. World Team has more than 360 missionaries and workers sharing

the Gospel in 28 countries among 59 distinct people groups. Their greatest need is for ordinary people

who are willing to let God’s love pour out of their lives among the unreached. We are excited to be part

of this organization.

(Matt 9:37-38) "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
