The camps are popular for both people with and without a rare disorder!
• 320 applicants for the job as camp assistant: 30% new applicants og 70% with camp experience – Mostly young students
– Frambu has engaged a person to
employ the staff
• 323 applications for participating
in total – relatively evenly distributed
through the four camps

Some of our challenges
• Finding the balance in how much we as professionals get involved – we want the camps to ”live their own lives” to the greatest extend
• Finding the balance in how many youths which can participate at each camp
• Be able to adapt to each individual’s
needs
• To do deliberate decisions when we
choose out the participants
- finding the right group composition

Why does it work so well?
• Through many years of organizing summer camps, Frambu has developed a certain “camp culture” that is passed on from one year to another
• We try to perserve this camp
culture by finding the
appropriate balance of
experienced and new camp
workers, making new assistants
assimilate quickly
