Frame Rate The number of video or film frames displayed each second (frames per second also known as fps). PAL frame is 25 fps for a standard UK TV, NTSC is 30 fps for standard US TV, film is 24 fps. Frame Rate also known as Frame Frequency is the frequency rate at which a device produces consecutive images called frames. The term applies equally well to film and video games. Frame rate is most often expressed in frames per second (FPS) and is also shown in progressive scanners known as Hertz.
