8 February 2011
Dear Oliver
Thank you for your interest in providing quality ensembles to perform for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games events. I would be interested to know what ensembles you may be able to suggest and I look forward to working with you to see what opportunities we might be able to offer these groups.
As we discussed, these groups would be voluntary performers and would not be remunerated by LOCOG.
After the end of March 2011, I will be in a better position to let you know where groups can best be staged however it may be helpful to start assessing interest from ensembles to perform for London throughout 2012.
We should be grateful if you would keep confidential any information about the staging of these ensembles until we finalize our programming decision making and not make these public at this stage.
I look forward to our further discussions. Yours sincerely

I have been invited to lead a festival for choirs and bands in London over Independence Day, 2012. I am excited we will be able to contribute to July 4 celebrations at this time knowing that the Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games is being held later that month.
I am delighted to invite you to consider having your ensemble join me in London for this unique event.

ThisuniqueeventwillbefitthedramaticcontextoftheyearinLondon. It is an honor for me to be invited and in turn to invite you.
I know that often music programs look for an opportunity to have their vocal and instrumental students perform together internationally; this presents a unique chance to so do.
I look forward to the chance to perform with you in London.
