DAY 1 – Depart the USA Depart the USA on your overnight flight toLisbon, Portugal.

DAY 4 – Fátima / CoimbraEnroute to the ship in Porto visit Fátima,home to the Sanctuary of Fátima, an impor-tant Catholic pilgrimage site. The city’s fameoriginates from the apparitions of Our Lady ofthe Rosary that appeared to three shepherdchildren in the nearby fields. Continue toCoimbra and its famous university before ar-riving in Porto to embark the MS Emerald Ra-diance, home for the next seven nights. Meals:B, D

DAY 5 – Porto / PinhãoToday is a day of sailing through the twistsand turns of the Douro Valley. Designated aUNESCO World Heritage Site, this area issparsely populated by small quaint villages

DAY 6 – Pinhão / Vega de Terron Begin the day with a visit to a beautifulquinta vineyard with spectacular views ofthe Douro Valley. Learn about wine produc-tion and its importance to the culture andeconomy. This afternoon, the ship sails forVega de Terron, gateway to Spain. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7 – Salamanca, SpainToday’s excursion takes you to the UN-ESCO World Heritage Site of Salamanca,Spain. During the guided walking tour, seeamazingly detailed and intricately carvedbuildings of the university, the 12-th cen-tury Romanesque church of San Martin andthe house of Shells. Regal splendorabounds in the Plaza Mayor, the heartbeatof the city. You’ll have free time to exploreindependently before returning to the shipin Portugal. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 8 – PocinhoArrive in Pocinho and disembark for amorning excursion to the Coa Valley Mu-seum. Designed to blend in with its sur-roundings, the concrete structure housesprehistoric stone carvings made by the earlyinhabitants of the Douro which were un-covered during construction of a nearbydam project. Return to the ship for lunch

and relax on deck as the ship sails throughidyllic surroundings on the way to Régua.This evening, enjoy an off-ship dinner at atraditional vineyard estate. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 9 – RéguaAfter arriving in Régua, journey to the mar-velous baroque village of Lamego, home tothe Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies -one of the most important pilgrimage sitesin Portugal. See the Sanctuary perched atopthe hill, with its iconic 686-step granitestaircase, decorated with the traditionalPortuguese blue and white ‘azulejos’ tiles.Return to the ship in Régua after the excur-sion. DAY 10 – PortoHaving traversed the Douro River, the shipreturns to Porto – a city with an eclecticmix of modern and ancient architecture. Anincluded tour highlights the sights fromhistoric landmarks to the scenic beauty.And it wouldn’t be complete without a visitto a wine cave for a tour and tasting of Portwine. The remainder of the afternoon is atleisure in Porto. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 11 – Porto / USAThis morning, disembark the MS EmeraldRadiance and bid a fond farewell to Portu-gal, filled with memories of this remarkablecruise along the ‘river of gold.’ Meal: B
