SDSU FRESHMANACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPSPRIORITY DATE—JANUARY 15To be considered for all available academic scholarships, you should submit your scholarship application by January 15 of your senior year in high school. SDSU does accept scholarship applications after the priority date. Applicants will be considered for any remaining scholarship funds at the time they submit their application. SDSU academic scholarships are only awarded to students who attend the main campus in Brookings.

STEP 1: APPLY FOR ADMISSION.You must be admitted to SDSU in order to be considered for academic scholarships. Your high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores should be sent to SDSU as part of the application process.

Apply online at www.sdstate.edu/apply.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION.The attached scholarship application is the only form you need to submit to be considered for any SDSU freshman academic scholarships.

A fillable pdf application can also be downloaded online at: www.sdstate.edu/admissions/financing. The pdf can be printed and submitted by mail.

SDSU accepts scholarship applications that have been hand written. However, we recommend that you type or clearly print your answers. The appearance of your application materials can impact the overall assessment of your academic profile.

MAKE SURE YOU:Send your test scores to SDSU. Have your ACT or SAT scores sent to SDSU. Our ACT school code is 3924; our SAT school code is 6653.

Double check your major.Make sure your intended major is the same on your application for admission as it is on the scholarship application. That way we can ensure that you’re being considered for scholarships within the major of your choice.

Include a letter of recommendation.Please have a high school official complete a letter of recommendation addressing your academic ability and potential for success. Attach the recommendation to your scholarship application.
