FRIDAY BULLETIN June 12th 2020
Hello everyone,
Where has the time gone? I can't believe that we are facing our last week of the summer term (and school year!) next week. There are lots of ideas for transition on the website for you to have a look at as sadly we cannot hold our usual transition events this year.
We are all busy preparing the school for your return in September. We are all SO excited and can't wait to see everyone again!
We will be sending more information out next week regarding September and also through the summer holidays, so do keep an eye on any emails that come out from school.
Look out for the last Friday Bulletin next Friday!
Take care,
Mrs Budd

Hello Elm Class,
Where has all the time gone? There is only one week left of this school year and I have been missing you all loads. School is just not the same without you here. We’ve been busy tidying the school so that it is ready for your return in September. I can’t wait to see you all again; I’m counting down the days!
I really hope you all enjoyed the Sock Sports Week events and entered your scores. It was a close run event. Well done for giving it a go.
Fun fact: Did you know that a football midfielder runs approximately 7 miles whilst playing a match and a referee runs even further! That’s 49 laps around the school field!!!
Next week home learning is all about getting ready for September and coming back to school.
My sunflowers haven’t flowered yet but I’m hoping they will next week so that you can all see how tall they finally get.
Stay safe,
Miss George
Hi Ash Class,
Wowee, how active do you all feel this week? I took part in a walking competition with my friend last week and I managed to walk 130,287 steps! I wonder how many steps you all could do in a week.
So, did you have a go at answering my five questions? The answers are:
1. There are eleven players in a football team.
2. The phrase ‘birdie’ means one under par. 3. The last Olympic Games was in 2016 in Rio,
Brazil. 4. The five Olympic rings represent the five
continents. 5. Usain Bolt holds the fastest 100m sprint.
I cannot believe there is only one more week until the summer holidays but the great news is that we’ll be closer to September when I can see you all again. How exciting!
Take a look at my plants at home. My Chantenay carrots are ready and Sunny, my sunflower, is nearly as tall as me but there is no
sign of it flowering just yet! Hopefully the sun at the weekend will give it some encouragement.
Keep up the good work on Spelling Shed and Maths Shed.
Miss Davies
Hi Oak Class,
It has been wonderful to welcome some of you back into school this week. We have caught up/recapped on some of the Mary Webb transition activities and you had a chance to ask any questions about moving up. If you have not returned to school (or even if you have!) and you think of a question about Year 7, please contact me at school using the admin email address and I’ll get back to you with an answer.
Year 5, I hope you are staying well and busy. I’ve been thinking about September and the topics that we’ll be covering. There will be lots of exciting things to learn about in Year 6. The classroom is looking a little different to how it does normally but we’ll still be waiting to greet you with a smile and I know how amazing you’ll be at settling back into a school routine.
I hope you’ve all had fun learning about sports and being active.
Take care Oak Class and see you all soon!
Miss McGrath

Remember BBC Bitesize have their daily lessons on the ‘Red Button’ on the TV. This may help if you have more than one child at home who needs to access a laptop or iPad.
Please do not hesitate to contact us here at school if you need any more help or advice with regard to work for Home Learning.
Dear Fir and Sapling Family,
Happy Friday! I can’t believe we are about to start our last week of the Summer Term. It is not the last week of term that we would have wished for but I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you for the hard work that you have done whilst you have been away from school. The school has been just too quiet without you!
This week, the children in Red Bubble have been continuing to be extra active and have been working hard on some of the other activities that were set. Although I’m not sure ‘Elephant Racing’ and the ‘Lemon and Spoon Race’ are actually real sports!! (A-Z of sports)
We also enjoyed designing mascots for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022; the children’s creations are on a separate page.
Thank you for continuing to send your work in for me to see. This week I have seen some amazing artwork and incredible GIANT sunflowers!
Thank you for your continued hard work and being completely awesome!
Miss Garbett

As we have seen in the news, the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions has resulted in an influx of beachgoers. In a normal year, the RNLI helps thousands of people who end up getting into difficulty in, or close to, water.
This summer, lifeguards cannot be everywhere, meaning a heightened water safety risk to beachgoers. The RNLI have put together a number of resources to help educate people about how to keep safe in, on and around water. Please click on the following link (Control &
Click) for further information on how to stay safe:
Water Safety from Home Resources
Educating young people about how to keep safe, in, on and around water is fundamental to saving lives at sea and a core part of the RNLI’s water safety activity.
We hope that you will find this information useful to help keep your family safe this summer.
