STAFFING CHANGES IN THE LOWER

Dear Parents / whanau,
Over the past term the College has been reviewing staffing needs across the
Lower School for the coming year with a focus on ensuring that we have our
teachers optimally placed to meet the needs of our students. With this in
mind we are pleased to announce the following changes:
Gabi Kuster will be our Class 1 teacher
Janette Feenstra will be our Class 4 teacher
Fatemeh Abdollahi will be our Class 6 teacher
We will be adopting a team teaching approach to literacy, numeracy
and sciences in Classes 6 and 7 to ensure students have the best
possible exposure to these important aspects of the curriculum.
We wish you well for the rest of the term.

that he won..
Mr Farley always goes above and
beyond his duties as caretaker and we
couldn’t wish for a more deserving
person to win this award.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM
ADAM DUBIGNON
Dear Parents / Whānau
Over the past few months I have been giving some careful consideration to
the future needs of the school, to my own future and that of my family.
After much reflection, I have come to the difficult decision that it is time for
me to move on to a new challenge and I will be taking up a position at an
international school in Southeast Asia in mid-2017. My motivation is mainly
driven by the needs of my family, though I also recognise that I have been
at Michael Park School for ten years and, as the school approaches a new
phase of development, I feel it would be good for the school to have a fresh
perspective. With this in mind I have given my resignation to the Board of
Trustees this week and over the next few months the Board, RSST and
College will be working together to ensure we put in place an effective
transition plan. My anticipated departure date will be in May next year and
we will update you should this change. In the meantime, I’d like to thank all
of you for the incredible contribution that you all made to our school fair
last weekend and I wish you well for the last few weeks of term.

Your feedback of what we can do better would be very much appreciated.

Just look for the crazy folk in gumboots. Please note that this play is recommended for Class 5/6 and above, or by parent discretion. Our production of Wheelers Luck is zany, Monty Python—esque production which tells the story of rural New Zea-
land life. Wheelers Luck is a New Zealand flavoured pantomime for adults with a sweet tone but some fruity lan-
guage. Originally written as a two person play, our Class 10 have re-worked the characters to fit our 23 person class.
Wheelers Luck is placed in a small New Zealand rural beach town called Bell End. It begins with the ridiculous and
untimely death of Nora Cox, the last surviving member of the towns founding family, putting the ownership of
Coxes Point, an important historical landmark to the town, in jeopardy.
As the property developers roll in from the big smoke there is an uproar from the townsfolk lead by a particularly
passionate man, named Murray Dickle. He goes up against the loaded business man Richard Lush who wants to buy
the land from the townsfolk. Their conflict is concluded in a final horse race along the beach to determine who will
keep the land.
Please come along and support us and enjoy a zany night of chuckles and belly laughs and physical comedy.
