“COFFEE WITH THE PASTORS”The next “Coffee with the Pastors” will be Sunday, July 13th at 10:30 a.m. in the Wesley Room. Several times a year, the

Central pastors and staff offer “CWTP” so it provides an opportunity for inquirers to learn more about faith in Jesus Christ,

more about Methodism, and more about Central UMC and its mission. Those who attend are under no obligation to make

a commitment; but those who wish may join at the “Coffee” and even be baptized if needed.

We would love for any interested person to join us on Sunday, July 13th.

HELPING HANDS MINISTRYCentral now has a new ministry called “Helping Hands Ministry.” We are now offering an

opportunity for you to serve our older congregation members in various ways. Blue request cards

have been placed at the Information Desk in the Crossing. Please fill out one of these cards for

yourself or others. These cards may be returned to the Information Desk, any greeter, any staff

Suzanne Cain will sing The Cross is My Statue of Liberty at the 8:30 and 10:55 services this Sunday. Thissong was penned by legendary American gospel songwriter Neil Enloe. The lyrics came to him while he wassinging on a boat cruise around the Hudson River along the New York City skyline. As they passed the Statueof Liberty, he was struck with the symbol of freedom that he saw there. So he thought to himself, "There mustbe a symbol of freedom in Christ as a citizen of a greater country, the Kingdom of God," and the idea of thesong was born. Here are the lyrics to the closing chorus.

Oh the cross is my Statue of Liberty,It was there that my soul was set free:

Unashamed I'll proclaim that a rugged crossIs my Statue of Liberty
