At OLGC, we are busy planning for the amazing school year ahead! Update to Gear Up for the Fall OLGC is planning to welcome back our students on August 25, 2020 with in- person learning! Currently we have two task forces assembling to make that happen. One is focusing on the health, safety, and well being of all educators and students. They are currently using the first of many AOD guidelines . It is highly likely that our staand students will be mandated to wear masks so this task force will be looking for “face shield” donations. The “face shield” will allow us to still see the precious faces of our students and expressions of each other. The other task force is focusing on our distance learning plan in the event we must move to distance learning again in the future. They are beginning with analyzing the survey data from the 190 entries submitted by you! Thank you for providing meaningful feedback that will make our school even better in the event we have to have distance learning again. Recommitment Success Thank you for your thoughtful consideration with the recommitment process to our school. It is exciting to know that we have 159 families and over 300 students re- committed! Our staand teachers are excited to love, teach and serve you next

Staff Discernment UpdateThe OLGC staff has completed our annual discernment process for the 2020-2021school year. Thank you for your prayers as we prayerfully discerned God’s missionfor our life. The majority of our staff has chosen to remain at OLGC and serve yourfamilies. In fact, our highly qualified team will be able to fully serve each grade levelmaintaining small class sizes. Right now, we will be hiring one new staff memberand begin our hiring process soon! Please let me know if you are interested inserving on an interview panel as a parent representative.

Here is why some of our teachers decided to recommit to OLGC Parish School:

“Choosing to recommit to OLGC’s mission, school, and team was a no-brainer forme. I prayed through each discernment point and smiled. It is a joy to be a part of acommunity who wants me to explore my relationship with Jesus at my own level, but always encouraging me to go deeper, without judgment. Our team is filled withfaith and committed to building each other UP. I am overjoyed to continue onto mytenth (!) year forming relationships with kids, families, and staff at OLGC ParishSchool. I am blessed to be here. This place feels like home.” --Leigh Fitch

“I believe in the mission & in OLGC! It is my home.”--Lindsay Bosker

“There is no other place I desire to be than OLGC. I have recommitted to this schoolfor my 30th year because it has always been a FAMILY community wrapped up in

for my 30th year because it has always been a FAMILY community wrapped up inGods great love. It is the same community I entrusted my own children to and praymy grandchildren will, also, be blessed to attend. This HOME where I am honoredand privileged to be a part of has brought so much joy to my life. My desire is tocontinue to help the students grow academically and spiritually so they use theirGod-given talents to change the world.”--Mary Kay Gendron

“I knew when I walked into OLGC almost 9 years ago that it was a unique schooland community. I knew it was “home!” That has not changed. I remain committed toour families and our mission. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”--LindaO’Sullivan

“We love OLGC because the entire school and parish community make OLGC aproudly Catholic school experience.” --Molly Metzgar

“I choose to teach at OLGC because my students grow as children of God, theybecome lifelong learners, and they develop leadership skills that equip them to leadlives that are happy and meaningful. What I have learned over my 20 years atOLGC, is that those three growth opportunities are offered to everyone in ourcommunity, not just the kids. Parents, teachers, and staff are invited into new faithexperiences, new learning opportunities, and to fine tune skills that help usstrengthen our team. I have experienced so much personal, positive growthbecause of my OLGC family and I would never want to teach anywhere else. Godplacing me here 20 years ago was truly one of the greatest blessings of my life.” -Jennifer Kraus

“I am proud to be a part of the OLGC team because of our resilience, our trust inGod, and our determination to be the best educators for our students. Prior toOLGC I taught at a few other schools and I can honestly say I have neverexperienced the outpouring of love, support, and faith that I have felt since beinghere. Our school is unique. There is nowhere I’d rather be for the 2020-2021 schoolyear!”--Abby Stephenson

With Gratitude for Mr. Donahue, Mrs. Nicholas, and Mrs. ZimmermanWith sincere gratitude, I would like to announce Mr. Donahue, Mrs. Nicholas, andMrs. Zimmerman’s plan to leave their positions at OLGC Parish School for the2020-2021 school year. Mr. Donahue served as a junior high teacher at OLGC fortwo years. His love for students and ability to connect with them was a gift to ourschool. Mrs. Nicholas served OLGC families for 20 years. Her passion for teachingand desire to make learning fun brought energy to her classroom and our school. Mrs. Zimmerman served at OLGC as a junior high teacher for the last 14 years. Shehas a servant’s heart and her desire to help all her students find success changedlives. In her words, "After my years at OLGC, I feel blessed that I have been able tobe a part of your lives. To the students, you have taught me more than you know, and remember “all knowledge has value”. To the families, I hope our paths will crossagain someday. Until we see each other again, take care and God bless." Althoughit is difficult to say good-bye, we trust in God’s great plan for these incredible
