Alliance of Delray Residential Association 10290 West Atlantic Avenue
Delray Beach, Florida Hello Fred,
Thank you for attending the alliance meet-
ing today. I spoke to the Solid Waste Authority
(SWA) and asked your question and was told
“YES, the SWA would come into communities
to pick up the brush piles. Here is the state-
ment from them concerning trash pick-up. “Palm Beach County is facing a mountain of
storm debris – an estimated 3 million cubic yards.
That’s nearly two years’ worth of typical genera-
tion.”
“Please know that the Solid Waste Authority of
Palm Beach County is working as quickly as possi-
ble to get everything cleaned up. Beginning Tues-
day, September 19th, any yard waste placed in bags
and garbage cans at the curb will be picked upon a
regularly-scheduled waste collection day, along
with small vegetation piles that are 4 cubic yards or
less.”
“However, larger debris piles will take longer to
collect. Multiple passes will be made in each neigh-
borhood to collect it all. It may take up to six weeks
to complete the first pass and up to three months
before all the storm debris is picked up.”
Let me know if the Alliance can be of further
assistance.

Speedy recovery to Gladys Murphy. We hope you are out and playing Mah Jonn soon. Mary Salvucci was under the weather earlier this month but she’s back swimming again. Longtime resident Christine LaGana has re-cently passed away, survived by her kind and caring husband Joseph Raiti. Christine’s moth-er was an original resident in our community. We will miss her. Sorry to report that Jack Bennis has passed away after a long illness. Our condolences.
A very special Thank You goes
out to Fred, Board President of
High Point West 11, for helping
everyone during the hurricane.
We all got together in the club
house to stay cool. We also met
with other families there. We
were encouraged to bring our re-
frigerator and freezer foods.
Thank you for saving our food.
Bravo to our community for the
warmth they have shown, coffee
and tea was always on. Again,
Thank You Fred for everything.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE
This is really important for everyone to know! 1. Let's say its 7:25pm and you're going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day.
2. You're really tired, upset and frustrated.
3. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about 2 miles from the hospital nearest your home.
4. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.
5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly, and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing con-sciousness.
7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when pro-ducing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it to regain a normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get help or to a hospital.
9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!
10. A cardiologist says: If everyone who gets this information, kindly sends it to 10 people, you can
bet that we'll save at least one life.
Thanks for this Tony Murphy
