Mission Statement of Sacred Heart Parish
We, the members of Sacred Heart Parish, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, are continuing our ministry
of Jesus Christ. We are committed to forming ourselves into a caring and active Christian Community, to
promote the values of our religion and to fulfill the universal mission of our ministry.
From the Deacon’s Desk Deacon James Lonick
Today, we are still a missionary Church.
This celebration on World Mission Sunday leads us
to the heart of our Christian faith – leads us to mission,
as Pope Francis explains. On this day, we are called –
as baptized Catholics – to celebrate and support local
churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and
parts of Latin America and Europe.
Jesus is alive in the world today through each of us.
It is up to us to share our faith through prayer,
example and support for the Missions. I would not
have been able to participate in the Deacon’s Mission
to the Dominican Republic without the financial
support of others.
We may be able to serve personally. By working in
one of the Diocese Mission trips, locally with Saint
Vincent DePaul, Sam: 25 and here at Sacred Heart
Parish; in service to the homebound or assisting with
youth service projects.
This year, we are invited into a special opportunity
to engage with Pope Francis and learn more about his
missions. To do so visit: ChatWithThePope.org.
Congratulations to newlyweds
Brock & Stephanie (Dinse) Reopelle
who were married last weekend.
May God bless them with
His everlasting love.

Through the Sacrament of Baptism we welcome to our Catholic Faith Community Abel Jules Edward, son of Shawn & Lori Mathwich. May God’s love and presence be with him as he
begins his Journey of Faith.
The Knights of Columbus will be having
Corporate Communion on Sunday, October 29
at 7:30am Mass.
10 Commandments For the next ten weeks we will be running the 10 Commandments. Maybe we can reflect on how we are honoring them.
Thou shalt not steal.
Stealing is more than just stuff, it’s when you take
anything that is not yours. Fame, Power, Time, Happiness, and Loved One’s are examples that
can be stolen from others.
Do Not Conform Yourself to This Age
St. Paul tells us, “Do not conform yourself to this age
but...discern...what is good and pleasing…” Since Roe v. Wade, around 60 million innocent children have lost their God-given right to live. An entire class of person, children in the womb, have been relegated to the status of “chattel”, personal
property, who can be disposed of by those more powerful than they. They have no power to resist. They are subject to abuse and destruction by those with more power, namely the power of the State. They have no voice that can be heard except our own. Without doubt, the killing of innocent children in the womb is the pre-eminent moral evil of our age. It is for this reason that we must “not conform” to
this grave injustice. As St. Paul tells us, we must instead stand on the side of truth and justice and “what is good and pleasing to God”. We must
recognize what both medical science and natural justice tell us: children in the womb are human persons with an inalienable right to life. Undoubtedly, the most important human rights issue of our age is to protect our “first neighbors:—-children in the womb. The womb is the “first home” of the
whole human race and standing up for them is a matter of solidarity with our neighbor and love for the poor. We should not stand by while thousands of children every day are evicted and killed! Our call (as St. Paul reminds us) is to replace the current culture of death with a new culture of life and a civilization of love.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Today is World Mission Sunday. It is a day we recommit ourselves to our common vocation through Baptism, to be missionary disciples. Your prayers are generous gifts to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, Latin America and Easter Europe will help missionaries offer the poor of these areas practical help. The missionaries share the mercy of God and connect us with people in need around the word.
Envelopes are located at all entrances to Church.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process through which adults become full members of the Roman Catholic
Church. The RCIA is based on a lifelong faith formation model. There are several stages involved in the process beginning with a period of inquiry to find out more about Catholicism. As individuals are ready, the parish celebrates certain rites (rituals) that signify the end of one stage and the beginning of another. Please call 715-526-2023. Class will start on October 24 from 6:00 to 7:30pm at the Center. Have a great fall.

The Giving Tree It’s that great time of year again when
we show our love for one another.
The Human Concerns Giving Tree is up
in the Gathering Space from November
11-December 3. Again this year, we will
be working with family ornaments on the tree. Please
pick the ornament(s) of your choice, buy the item on
the ornament(s), and return wrapped or in a gift bag
with the ornament attached to the outside of the
package. Thank you so much for sharing!
If anyone is interested in giving a donation towards a family, rather than buying a gift(s), can contact Pat at
715-853-2157.
If giving a gift card, they can be purchased through
Scrip and this also helps our school and church.
Thanks again for each and every one of you who
have participated in the past and in the future.
All gifts MUST be returned by December 3.
High School Religious Education and Youth Ministry is underway! Thank you to our catechists. They have been a tremendous help in kicking off the new year and especially our new program. Beginning with this year’s 9th grade, we will be running six week courses throughout the school year. Ninth graders are currently taking “Sacraments and the Eucharist” or “Old Testament.”
On November 29, we will start our next six week session. If you are interested in teaching “New Testament” please contact the parish center! We have resources and lesson plans-all that is missing is you!
Finally, we have 15 high school students and chaperones who will be attending Arise Youth Adventure Day at High Cliff State Park Sunday, October 22. Please pray for our youth as they experience Our Lord in nature.
Thank you and God Bless!

Invest in Sacred Heart Catholic School’s Future “4th Annual Giving Campaign”
You’re invited to Build Disciples of Christ and help to shape Lifelong Learners through Sacred Heart Catholic School’s Annual Giving Campaign. This once a year financial appeal is a simple way to help secure the future of our school and our faith. * Over the past three years this campaign has raised over $82,000! * The funds raised have helped to purchase new items such as religion
curriculum, music supplies, lab equipment, technology, and have provided additional opportunities for professional development and staffing, such as our NEW Learning
Support Teacher.
* Your donations can be given to the school office, placed in the Mass collection baskets during Mass, or dropped off at the Parish Center. (Please label envelopes
’Annual Giving Campaign’.) * All donations are tax-deductible (cash &
check options make it easy.) * Funds from this campaign directly support our students and school!
