Dear President Lion Vipul Modi

Congratulations for taking up Leadership position in the club. You are the President of one of the

premier clubs of our District. We all have taken a pledge to serve the community and help the

unprivileged section of our society. I am very happy that club under your able Leadership working

on the same line. The first two months of club activities are very good. So many regular Projects like

Food at Old Age Home, Educational Projects for School children, Anaajdaan & Medical Help to

needy are going very well. Special mentioned to be made for the Tree Plantation Project –

Atmanirbhar Kisaan. Our Club took lead or this project last year and this year also the same trend

continues with Adoption of 200 more farmers which mean 10,000 Fruit trees were planted. I would

like to Congratulate you for your efforts and thank you for continuing the project this year.

A Leader has to keep a right balance between Service & Fellowship which is very well maintained

by you. I would also like to Congratulate you for adding more than 32 New Members. I am sure you

will still try to add few good members during the year. Our Next important event is October Service

week. I am sure you will plan and participate in the same in big way.

I am very glad to understand that club is releasing its First Bulletin for the L Y 2020-21. I would like

to congratulate club Bulletin Editor Lion Parag Ashar who is working hard for release of this Bulletin.

Message of The Club President

Dear Lion Friends,

Together we begin our new Lionistic Year with a motto “Hope Help Happiness” –

• Let’s all strive to be a ray of HOPE for people in need of any support in these trying times,

• Let’s do our best – with our thoughts, actions and resources – to HELP people who approach us

and also more and more people whom we approach proactively,

• To discover the true HAPPINESS as we see the people around us happy as a result of our

initiatives!

I am confident that we shall live up to all our aspirations as 32 new members join lionism in this short

span of Two months as this year began. With the leadership experience of our long-standing Lions

and the enthusiasm and fresh ideas from our new members, we are looking forward to a rocking year

of service and fellowship.

This is evident from the service activities going in full swing – such as Plantation of fruit trees,

distribution of foodgrains, serving our animal friends – stray dogs and also Gaumata, alongside our

permanent projects of serving senior citizens and girl students.

We look forward to the upcoming ‘October Service Week’, when our club puts up amazing

performance year after year with very thoughtful service initiatives. I call upon all our members to

participate wholeheartedly.

Secretarial Report

This year we have began with hope and positivity and zeal to do well. Our society needs the

organisation of Lions Club who are serving like never before, as after around 18 months under the

Covid19 shadow the Society today is facing many challenges - some old and some new. We continue

to do our services activities giving very rapid response to the needs of the society, doing more projects

that satisfy the society’s needs.

In the first two months of the L Y 2021-22, we conducted many projects including some landmark

projets like Fruit Tree Plantation project at Village Mokhada near Mumbai, Installation of Water

purifier cum cooler projects at the busy Borivali station, We have also distributed medicines for TB

patiets in MDRT TB projects.

Our club has permanent projects like –

- Serving lunch to about 70 senior citizens at Gorai Old Age Home (Done on July 1, 2, 13, 18, 22,

23, 30; August 15, 20, 22, 23, 27, 28)

- Serving meals to orphan girls at Kanyashala, Jogeshwari and Borivali (Done on July 1, 7, 13, 18;

August 3, 15, 29)

- Distributing nutritious food kits to TB patients (Done on July 28 and August 27)

In addition to these permanent projects, please find the projects done in the month of July and August

2021 –

July 1 - The very beginning of the Lionistic year saw us joining hands with the District for

distribution of foodgrains to BMC Cleaniness workers. Our club got an award from district for the

same.

July 2, 21 – Medical aid provided to a person in need

July 5, July 7, July 19 – Education aid provided to 4 students in need

July 11 – Animal welfare – To protect stray dogs from aciidents in the dark, we put reflective safety

collars on them, and also fed them dog foods, in association with ‘Beyond Human Foundation’

August 2 – Provided education aid to a needy student studying on Grade12, and paid to another

student for learning computer at school

August 4 – Gauseva - Donated Rs 30000 to Om Bimar Nandi Gaushala Trust for healthcare and

treatment of Cows

August 7 – Gauseva - Surgical removal of painful warts on cows

August 15 – Independence day celebration and installation of water filter-cooler for the benefit of

commuters at Borivali railway station, which will boost awareness about our club in thbis very busy

public place

With 32 new members joining this year our club has now become 110 member strong club, who are

working towards serving society with new motivation, zeal and energy. With fun-filled fellowship

activities like a 2days picnic to Treat Resort Golvad, and an orientation meeting where old and new

members interacted to create lasting bonding as a team, we look forward to our club reaching new

heights in promoting happiness for ourselves as well as the people whose lives we impact positively.

President Lion Vipul Modi,

Congratulations to you and all the club members for starting this

lionistic year with a bang.

I am proud to be the Leo club President under your leadership and

guidance.

I would also like to extend my regards to PRO Lion Nimesh Shah

and Bulletin editor Lion Parag Ashar for releasing this wonderful

bulletin.

Leo club of Magnificent Mahavir Nagar till now has conducted:

26 activities with 2015 beneficiaries, Total cost of ₹131172. The

membership at the start of the Leoistic was 54 and currently stands

strong at 110.

Some of our Flagship projects were "Nanhi Muskaan" "Power Up-

series of seminars" "Eco Utsav" and "Surakshabandhan".

Just like our parent club even we've had a fantastic start and hope to

keep working in the same manner. Compliments to Lion Jaysinh

Negandhi for being an outstanding leo advisor and guiding us

whenever needed.

Lastly, I would like to wish you and your team a wonderful year

ahead and hope to work along with you all for even more service

projects. You have our full support for all your ventures to come.

Recognition and Appreciation

Our club Lions Club of Mumbai Mahavir Nagar was awarded

with a trophy and many certificates..that have been presented to

us by DG Lion Khwaja Muddassiar, 2nd DG Hemraj sethia and

3rd DG Ajay Havelia and our IPDG Lion Shashikant Modh.

To begin with, our club awarded Gold Trophy for sponsorship of

108 food grain bags to BMC Cleanliness Warriors who have done

great service to maintain cleanliness in our city during Covid

times.

Plus our club also got appreciation by way of Certificates for

participation in many different service areas

1. Certificate of appreciation for participation in Mega Blood

Donation Camp held on 15th August 2021.

2. Certificate of participation and Planting of Mangroves at

Suruchi Beach, Vasai on 4th July 2021.

3. Certificate of Appreciation presented to us for participation in

Flood Relief projects for people affected in floods in area of

Dahisar, poisor, Kurar Village on 27th July 2021.

4. For participation in vision and diabetics camp for 442 Railway

employees at EMU Mahalakshmi Railway Workshop July 9th,

2021.

5. Our Leo Club of Magnificent Mahavor Nagar has also received

a certificate of participation for in Mega Blood camp on 15th

August at Khar Danda...

It's a matter of immense pleasure to be the PRO of most vibrant Club of District 3231A3.

You have shown your dedication and leadership skill by adding 32 new members in just two months.

Club is also doing excellent work for the humanitarian needs, whether it is AnajDan to BMC

workers, Nutrition food grains to MDR TB patients, Meals to Old age home and many more need-

based projects. I am sure with this Bulletin you can showcase the service projects & fellowship

activities of the Club.

As PRO, I am exploring all channels to build a great image of the Club. I have already updated Club

From the Editor’s Desk

Hi Lion Friends,

As our club enters in this new glorious year of Lionism post pandemic that posed unprecedented

challenges to humanity, I take this opportunity to welcome our new members to our Lions Club of

Mumbai Mahavir Nagar family. We have now learned to not only live with this pandemic but also

continue serving our community that needs us Lions more than ever in these trying times. We have

truly lived our slogan of the year of being a ray of Hope to the needy, help them improve their lives

and become a source of happiness for the less privileged.

This platform of the Lions Clubs has helped us all likeminded individuals to connect in a well-

structured way and serve our community. This bulletin is a small effort to provide all members and

the Lions community in general a glimpse of the activities of the club in recent times, spread the word

about Lionism and inspire them to contribute more ideas / resources to better serve humanity to the

best of our capacity. We continue to carry out various projects in the fields of health and hygiene,

environment protection, education, hunger relief, financial support to the needy, creating an

atmosphere of self-reliance for the needy and many more. I would like to thank Immediate past

District governor Lion Shashikant Modh for his guidance, President Lion Vipul Modi, Secretary Lion

Prakash Bhatia and entire Lions club of Mumbai Mahavir Nagar for giving me this great opportunity

to create bulletins for this year.
