Technology

Since Mount Hope introduced the first bowed roll over a half century ago, they have become basic operating equipment on all machines for most industries that process material in web form. The Mount Hope Roll is designed to keep webs of all weights and types trouble-free under all processing conditions. Each roll is constructed with welded stainless ends, end shields designed to eject or fling out moisture that tends to collect in the roll end cavities, precision spools and high speed free-turning ball bearings. Each roll has a unique seal arrangement to provide excellent sealing for the specific application that requires no additional lubrication. Roll sizes available are 1-1/2” to 13-1/4” with fixed or adjustable axles, as well as a wide selection of brackets for any application.

Product Application

Mount Hope LT Designed for low temperature, wet service. Used to maintain the condition of fabrics for better sheet formation and longer fabric life. Typical applications include the forming section, wet press, and size press.

Mount Hope HT Designed for high temperature, wet service. Used to optimize felts and maintain a smooth flat sheet. Typical applications include the dryer section, size press, and calenders.

Mount Hope DH For dry service, high-speed positions. Used to ensure that a wrinkle-free sheet enters slitter/winder and wind-up operations, as well as slit-separating system to eliminate interleaving of slit web streams. Typical applications include the reel and winders.

All Mount Hope rolls are equipped with the approriate sleeve for each application. These new sleeves incorporate a totally new compound for excellent abrasion and chemical resistance; X1 sleeve for standard and X2 for high temperature positions. All Mount Hope rolls are available with our metal sleeves in either chrome or tungsten carbide designed to provide the best abrasion resistance. Mount Hope bowed rolls are engineered to complement Xerium’s roll cover and clothing programs for maximum sheet consistency, machine runnability and sheet properties.
