Look at the irst disciples…. Howdid they do it?! “He called them,immediatelytheylefttheirboatandtheir father and followed him.”

James and John dropped everything to followChrist.They embarkedon this unknown journeywithJesus,traveling“aroundallofGalilee”.Jesus’callofferedthemneitherstabilitynorsecurity.Alltheyhadwastrustinhim.Thisissoremarkable.

Clearly, their encounter with Christ was lifechanging,evenbeforetheyknewthefulltruthofwhatitwouldmeantofollowhim.We,ontheoth‐erhand,havehindsight.Wealreadyknowabouthismiracles,his resurrection,and thewholehis‐toryofChristianfaith.Itshouldbeeasierforusto“leave our nets” than it was for the brothers intoday’sGospel.Yethowoftendowe indallsortsofexcusesto“postpone”anyresponse tohiscalltosurrenderourlivestoChrist?

Andwherewouldwebetodayiftheapostleshadtriedtojustgopart‐timewiththeLord?Somuchwas accomplished through the sincere faith ofthese humble ishermen.What we could accom‐plishifwetrustedinJesusastheydid?___________________________
