Greetings Southside Family, If you are visiting with us today, let me be the first to welcome you to Southside. We are so glad you chose to join us for worship, and our prayer is that you will discover the presence of God as we worship together. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people.(Luke 2:10) Christmas is a time to celebrate the true guest of honor, the Lord Jesus Christ. My prayer is that each of you and your respective families will have a wonderful time on Christmas day celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. Join me in celebrating the fact that God loves us and that He is with us. My family and I would like to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas! Dear Southsiders,

We have received so many beautiful Christmas cards through the Southside Post Office and we are appreciative of each and every one! My family and I want to wish each of you a wonderful Christmas! This is such a wonderful time to get together with family and friends but please never lose sight of the reason we celebrate and look for chances to share the rea-son with others!

I had the opportunity to preach at the Dothan Rescue Mission again last Friday night and it was such a blessing. I can't say enough how appreciative I am for the wonderful folks from Southside that head that up once a month. Joe Todd and all of his helpers do a great job of ministering to the men and women at the mission and they are being the hands and feet of Christ in the process. If you want to be blessed, ask them how you could help sometime and I promise you won't regret it!

I'm enjoying the remainder of 2013 but I'm looking forward to what 2014 holds as well! I can't wait to see what God has in store for us here at Southside in the coming year. I pray that we are all looking to enter the new year with clean hands and a pure heart anxiously expecting God to use us all!

TEEN CHALLENGE MISSION FRIDAY, DECEMBER 27th

During our Choir’s visit to Teen Challenge, we inquired about providing a meal for the boys, as most of them will not be going home for Christmas. This will be a special treat for

them, and we will feed about 50 boys. If you would like to participate, please call Janice at the

church office to sign up.

Merry Christmas to my Southside Family,

What a special time of year to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! There's just something about Christmas. I am so grateful that I decided at an early age to accept Him as my Lord and Savior. That is one decision I have never regretted. I am so blessed and thankful for all that He has done for me. I pray each of you have a very Merry Christmas!

Sr. Adults, don't forget our choir begins again on Wed. Jan. 8th at 3:30 p.m. Please consider joining this choir - we could do so much more if we had a little more participation. Our Sr. Adult Luncheon will be Tues., Jan. 14th at 12:00 noon. You can now purchase your tickets from one of the council members. Be sure to get your ticket before the deadline of Jan. 8th. We will have a popcorn and movie night at the church on Thurs., Jan. 23rd. We will begin around 6:00 p.m. Hope you all will plan to come. Game Day will be Fri., Jan. 24th at 10:00 a.m. Please bring a covered dish for our luncheon. I have had several more to ask me about the Branson trip. If you are interested, please go ahead and sign up. The cost is $580.00 (100.00 deposit and 60.00 each month until paid).

Children in grades 1-5, our Jan. event will be Fri., Jan. 17th. We will decide later whether it will be a movie or bowling.

What a great day for worship! I want to welcome all of our guests who have joined us this morning. I invite any student in grade 6-12 to get plugged in with us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the youth area. We have a great time hanging out and getting in our groups. You will find that no matter where you go to school or where you live, you are welcome! I plan to visit various campuses this next semester during your lunch hour. Fill out the informa-tion and I hope to see you on campus soon. Our students who are attending our Winter trip will need to have their trip form notarized before the 31st. If you are a notary and would be available to help in the next few weeks, please contact me and let me know. I would greatly appreciate it! I pray our hearts and minds are focused on King Jesus as we worship him! My family and I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We are blessed to serve here at SBC. That is something to be excited about and celebrate.
