It’s a new day, a new morning. We start all over, again! It could be a new school day, or a new
baseball season. New seeds are planted, new jobs are begun. We start new friendships and relationships over and over. When you think about it our lives are filled with new beginnings. Every morning we wake up and by God we are still alive, we have another chance to start over.
Perhaps when we put our head on our pillow the night before we carried heavy burdens, crosses and fears. Maybe we left things undone, said bad things and left good things unsaid. But it’s a new day, time to start all over. Ours is a religion about the dawn. Creation begins in the morning. The women come to the tomb in the morning, and life is new. The empty tomb is an invitation for us to enter, to start over. Who among us doesn’t want to be more Christ-like, more loving, more generous, more tenderhearted, more creative, more thoughtful. Who among us doesn’t know a heart to heal, a broken relationship to mend, a lost soul to find. Throughout Lent we promised to repent and believe in the Gospel. We fasted, prayed and did works of charity to become more Christ-like in our
everyday living. We mourned his passion and death and now we begin anew. Now with Easter we proclaim Christ Risen from the dead. The angel’s good news, opens our imagination to the possibilities; light shines forth from the tomb. Life begins again because Jesus lives. Easter is more than an event—Easter is an attitude. Easter is liberation, Easter is life, our life in the here and now. It becomes our story so that we complete the work He began. Easter is a new beginning. You have had an impact on the lives of our students. By your prayers, generosity and sacrifices you walk with us on an educational journey from elementary school through high school to Life. Your generosity opens the door to new possibilities and new beginnings. May this Easter Season be a new beginning for you; a springtime full of life and blessings. Thank you for your witness to our Faith, your witness to our Easter message of new beginnings new life and eternal joy. Thank you for your generosity and for partnering with us in our work and ministry at St. Joseph the Provider School. Fr. Michael Swierz, President
FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK
SPECIAL THANKS
One of our benefactors, Dr. Mario Santangelo, has come up with an incredible gift to our school. Beginning
this school year he is donating a new Samsung tablet to each member of the 8th grade class. Upon
graduation students will be able to keep their tablet for their personal use in high school. All staff members
also received tablets. Free educational software is available as well. In addition Dr. Santangelo will set up a
fund to make tablets available to future eighth grade classes. Dr. Santangelo, thank you for this insightful and
thoughtful gift for our staff and 8th grade students. May God bless you and all that you have done for us.

OCSAA ACCREDITATION
In 1994, the Bishops of Ohio formed the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting
Association (OCSAA). The OCSAA is a collaborative undertaking of the Catholic dioceses in
Ohio and is governed by the Superintendents of Schools who serve as the OCSAA
Commission. The purpose of the OCSAA is to strengthen Catholic school identity and
mission and to engage Catholic schools in the
ongoing improvement of student learning.
OCSAA accreditation also requires schools to
show evidence that they are implementing OCSAA
Standards. The State Board of Education has
approved these Standards as comparable to the
ODE’s Operating Standards for Ohio’s Schools.
Through the OCSAA accreditation process a new
Catholic school can apply for a charter from the state
of Ohio and existing Catholic schools can maintain their state charters. St. Joseph the
Provider School is going through this process at this time. We will keep you informed of
our school’s progress.
