SACE 2013 HIGHLIGHTSFROM THE PRINCIPAL

Congratulations to our Class of 2013 on their outstanding results. It is particularly pleasing that many high performing students in this cohort attended Westminster for their entire schooling, including our School Dux Matthew Podgorski. We seek excellence in everything we do at Westminster. It is our commitment to the development of our teaching staff, breadth of our programs and standard of facilities that create every opportunity for each student to achieve their best. I am pleased that the impressive achievements of the Class of 2013 have endorsed this. The South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) is an internationally recognised passport to further education and I wish the Class of 2013 every success as they embrace life beyond our School.

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF LEARNING

I could not be prouder of the accomplishments of the Class of 2013. The overall results are a testament to the students’ commendable work practices encouraged within our strong academic and pastoral care programs. While the cohort achieved a 100% SACE pass rate, the opportunities at the School are such that many students readily exceeded the required minimum of 200 SACE points. I am delighted that awarded Merits were comparatively equal between boys and girls at Westminster, compared to a state average of 33% for boys. Our Boarding students also contributed significantly to the excellent academic standards with their top ATARs amongst the highest in the cohort. Furthermore, an exceptional 40% of students gained an ATAR of 90+. I wish the Class of 2013 the very best – as Old Scholars their future achievements will be well-deserved.
