FROM THE PRINCIPAL

This morning I had the privilege of judging

the Year 7/8 speech competition along with Mrs Irene Barnes. The standard was

impressive and the winners gave very impassioned and thought-provoking speeches. Well done

to Lisa Scott (1st), who spoke about a person she admired, and to Sophie Willans (2nd), who tackled the topic of plastic

waste.

While we are still awaiting our confirmed ERO report the

unconfirmed report acknowledges existing strengths in:

a strong localised curriculum connected to the

community and the local environment

an inclusive school culture underpinned by school

values that promote students’ learning and wellbeing

leadership building the capability of teachers to be

leaders within the school

The board’s approach to its stewardship role that

strengthens opportunities for learners.

It should only be a matter of 3-4 weeks now before you

will be able to read the full document. It has been a big term and I know that both students and staff are well and truly ready for a break. I do wish

everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. I am quite sure we

can all do with a little downtime.
